That is still a crime in California. For the John at least two crimes. Prostitution and statutory rape. Possibly contributing to the delinquency of a minor as well. Navinder Sarao's activities, (market manipulations), precipitated and caused the sell order from Waddell & Reed. The charges are federal criminal charges brought by the FBI.
Sarao's lawyer will now have the opportunity to argue for the opinion of the CFTC.
The extradition has been allowed by the brittish court. If the brittish thought the US charges were baseless, they would simply have ruled against the extradition and that would have been the end to it.
I've found it helps to question the way BBC news is wording their reports vrs. what the actual story is about.
