I just browsed trough my main 7 computer, and I counted about 4500 WUs in "Validation pending", with 1350, on host ID 8052170 only. Now, I know the theory the validation is based upon, but the number seems high to me....: let's assume a 50 credits per WU, which is quite a conservative estimation, the backlog is about 225.000 credits !! Is this related to the servers hiccup last days, or am I not very lucky with my wingmans ? A. |

Unlucky with wingmen, most certainly, however it does appear that the "pending" queue is getting longer..... Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

I just browsed trough my main 7 computer, and I counted about 4500 WUs in "Validation pending", with 1350, on host ID 8052170 only. I quote myself : took a look at the most performant hosts page 1, where my host is, and all of the big gun gentlemans are in the same situation as me. So, hypotetically, if I gracefully stop crunching and my wingmans do their job, I should gradually get the 200k/300k credits for the WU yet to be validated. A. |

The information is accessible via your account.

B)  Average turnaround time C)  Last contact (most important) A & B will give an indication of the speed of that host, but C is the clincher.  If C is not recent, chances are that the user is no longer an active participant.  If this is the case, then you will have to wait until the WU times out and is resent. |

Unlucky with wingmen, most certainly, however it does appear that the "pending" queue is getting longer..... Which, during a WOW event, is not really good... sigh. Thanks Rob. A. |

Be aware that as some "hoarded" WU's for the start of the WOW event, the same will happen for the end, so that they can take a huge leap in the last hour. I would guess the hoarding is starting now. It will be interesting to see the difference after the finish on Monday. |

And there are those that are getting Guppies, but don't like them for their returns so are ghosting them (or other measures) so they can get Arecibo work & not impact on their ability to get new work due to work limiting through Aborts or Errors. I expect a big dump if reissued Guppie work after WoW ends and/or when their deadlines are reached. Grant Darwin NT |

And there are those that are getting Guppies, but don't like them for their returns so are ghosting them (or other measures) so they can get Arecibo work I don't understand people who do this. Are these fictional Internet credits really so important that they spend hours ghosting WU's and leaving other crunchers hanging out to dry? Very unethical. Me, I just turn my old laptop on, start BOINC, and check it once a week to make sure it's not totally dead. |
