In fact for NVIDIA GeForce GTX 275 you need Older driver Ask in Number Crunching which is best for your GPU I think the best is 266.58 or 388.xx (I forget the exact sub-version) Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |

I am having same the issue, I am using BOINC 7.6.22 (x64) and since this update have been having this issue. I'm running a Phenom x4 3200 B97 CPU with 8GB RAM on an nVidia GeForce 9600GT 1GB RAM running the GeForce Experience automatic updater at revision 341.95 which was obtained around 3/16/16 MANUALLY from here for my OWN server: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/99994/en-us and there have been no updates since. Unless BOINC/SETI is now requiring a newer BETA driver, I think something is wrong with the error message being generated for the latest RELEASED driver, which is actually WORKING with the GPU versions for SETI@HOME and seems to be running flawlessly according to logs. I suggest for now, that SETI put a lower revision number requirement as a catch-all, until it can be tightened up. As for the other user, it seems that his card is supported on this same driver also (I put in bold): Supported products: GeForce 400 Series: GeForce 405 GeForce 300 Series: GeForce GT 340, GeForce GT 330, GeForce GT 320, GeForce 315, GeForce 310 GeForce 200 Series: GeForce GTX 295, GeForce GTX 285, GeForce GTX 280, GeForce GTX 275, GeForce GTX 260, GeForce GTS 250, GeForce GTS 240, GeForce GT 230, GeForce GT 240, GeForce GT 220, GeForce G210, GeForce 210, GeForce 205 GeForce 100 Series: GeForce GT 140, GeForce GT 130, GeForce GT 120, GeForce G100 GeForce 9 Series: GeForce 9800 GX2, GeForce 9800 GTX/GTX+, GeForce 9800 GT, GeForce 9600 GT, GeForce 9600 GSO, GeForce 9600 GSO 512, GeForce 9600 GS, GeForce 9500 GT, GeForce 9500 GS, GeForce 9400 GT, GeForce 9400, GeForce 9300 GS, GeForce 9300 GE, GeForce 9300 SE, GeForce 9300, GeForce 9200, GeForce 9100 GeForce 8 Series: GeForce 8800 Ultra, GeForce 8800 GTX, GeForce 8800 GTS 512, GeForce 8800 GTS, GeForce 8800 GT, GeForce 8800 GS, GeForce 8600 GTS, GeForce 8600 GT, GeForce 8600 GS, GeForce 8500 GT, GeForce 8400 GS, GeForce 8400 SE, GeForce 8400, GeForce 8300 GS, GeForce 8300, GeForce 8200, GeForce 8200 /nForce 730a, GeForce 8100 /nForce 720a ION (Desktops): ION ION LE (Desktops): ION LE |

P.S. That nVidia 341.95 driver file is a pretty large 270.37MB, so beware of your bandwidth restrictions. |

Looking at plan_class_spec.xml on the "beta" site: http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/plan_class_spec.xml for plan_class: opencl_nvidia_sah opencl_nvidia_SoG there are these restrictions: <min_nvidia_compcap>200</min_nvidia_compcap> <min_driver_version>34700</min_driver_version> So even if it was possible to use driver 347.00+ on older NVIDIA GPUs the other needed feature - Compute Capability 2.00+ - is in Hardware and can't be added by Software https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CUDA#GPUs_supported For CUDA there is no such restriction, e.g. for cuda32 <plan_class> <name>cuda32</name> <gpu_type>nvidia</gpu_type> <cuda/> <min_cuda_version>3020</min_cuda_version> <min_driver_version>26306</min_driver_version> <max_nvidia_compcap>300</max_nvidia_compcap> And for cuda23 there is restriction on max_driver_version 341.61 <plan_class> <name>cuda23</name> <gpu_type>nvidia</gpu_type> <cuda/> <min_cuda_version>2030</min_cuda_version> <min_driver_version>19038</min_driver_version> <max_driver_version>34161</max_driver_version> <max_nvidia_compcap>199</max_nvidia_compcap> And you receive and complete OK cuda32 tasks (so you don't really have a problem): http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=7339351 Â Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |
