A dangerous path? Netherlands would profit from exiting the EU "Look at why the British wanted this exit! Politicians like Prime Minister David Cameron have lost all sense of reality. The people have seen how billions were spent on Greece and Turkey, on deals with Erdogan or for asylum seekers." Don't forget the EU parasites Mr Wilders :-) |

The difference being is that he said he would stand down after the referendum & that he is not a career politician. All that is wrong with the EU. Is Merkel to blame for exit? How the Tories turned against the EU |

Shame that there are no "Xenophobic simpletons" to clean up the biggest cesspit on your continent, because that's what it will take. |

Taking responsibility of one's deeds. Trying to clear the f***-up one made. No, not for Cameron, not for Johnson, not for Farage, not for their xenophobic simpleton packs. A take on the Monty Python's Flying Circus sketch 'The Ministry of Silly Walks'? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZlBUglE6Hc https://youtu.be/iY57ErBkFFE #Texit Don't blame me, I voted for Johnson(L) in 2016. Truth is dangerous... especially when it challenges those in power. |

A take on the Monty Python's Flying Circus sketch 'The Ministry of Silly Walks'? Yes. Pope Francis, after his election, declined to stay in the Papal Apartments in favor of his two-room residence in the Domus Sanctae Marthae. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domus_Sanctae_Marthae |

Janne you are beginning to make me think of a different poster here. Or perhaps you missed the reference on the cover of the New Yorker as that wasn't a story in your culture. |

And then you should know that John Cleese is part of our culture. In an interview with him he said he was very surprised that he is so very popular here:) https://www.rt.com/uk/339941-john-cleese-trolls-fawlty-hotel/ |

Brussels are too annoyed with the UK to let that happen. She'll have to take Scotland in as a new member. I wonder if the rest of the SNP realises what that will mean for them :-) |

I wonder if the rest of the SNP realises what that will mean for them :-) One thing for certain is that Scotland has to adopt to Euro! Perhaps even adapt to the secret plans cooked up by France and Germany recently. Do Scotland want German tax laws? I don't know anything about their new tax laws but it will most likely be a serious problem. PS. I like the Scots gut though and they knows the meaning of the Icelandic term "duglegur":) |

It should reflect the actual numbers of supporters from each side. |

Strange to talk about balanced coverage and impartiality rules in media. All media are biased more or less. Or are there any non biased media that I have missed? |

Or are there any non biased media that I have missed? The one that bills itself fair and balanced? LOL |

Good news for a change: I'm starting to see articles crop up from seemingly unrelated sources about how people are essentially voting against globalization and not out of ignorance or a bunch of other stupid ideas that have been floating around for months. What do 61% of the Greeks, 52% of the Brits, Bernie fans AND - yes, I know this one's hard to swallow - Trump fans all have in common? Now THAT'S a narrative. I hope it grows because it's the only narrative that ties up everything with a pretty little bow :) But you already know that because we've been over it before. We still need a Wozniak. And all we've got is Juncker & Shoebbels, Hillary & Trump. Now I know it looks like we've got a long way to go... and we do. But I have to be honest. I wasn't expecting the thought that all this pro-market crap we've had shoved down our throats is to blame for all the "protest votes" going on in the Western World... I wasn't expecting that line of thought to break mainstream so soon. I'll see if I can't round up a few links for you later today... |

Brussels has inserted itself into Warsaw’s internal legal affairs based on authority conjured out of thin air. Ooops! :) --- WSJ The European Union’s current overreaching and meddling in Poland’s legal affairs under the guise of its lawless, ironically named “Framework to Strengthen the Rule of law,†provides a glimpse at some of the dynamics underlying last month’s Brexit vote. The framework, announced in March 2014, did not directly factor into Brexit, but it demonstrates the EU’s troubling propensity to harass its member states and dictate Brussels-based solutions for domestic problems. If pursued, the framework could further destabilize the EU. At issue is a standoff between Poland’s new center-right governing coalition and its Constitutional Tribunal—akin to the U.S. Supreme Court—regarding the validity of appointments to the Tribunal. The new governing coalition believes its appointees should be seated, while the Tribunal believes the seats should go to the appointees of the outgoing center-left government. Which side is correct under Polish law is less important than the complete lack of evidence that the impasse cannot be resolved politically within Poland, to say nothing of the lack of evidence that the dispute threatens the “rule of law†values enshrined in Article 2 of the Treaty on European Union (updating the 1992 Maastricht Treaty). No matter. Instead of directing its energies to resolving the refugee crisis, calming the turmoil surrounding the Brexit referendum or revitalizing its moribund economy, the EU is flexing its muscle to dictate its preferred result for Poland’s internal dispute... (and so on) from The Wall Street Journal http://www.wsj.com/articles/the-european-union-shows-poland-why-we-have-brexit-1467747768 If the link doesn't work, I got through to the whole article from Bing News. Not sure why that is... |

Did I say good news? Actually I've got awesome news! No really. OK so a lot of you guys have been Going Over to the Dark Side making some pretty sweeping & negative comments about Trump supporters and Brexiteers. But it's a pretty crap theory to say, "yeah, I woke up this morning and it turns out half the people of whatever country are xenophobic racists". You can't explain away 40% or 50% of a voting population like that. That's silly. If majorities have started surprise voting with their hearts instead of their heads and casting "I'm flipping you the bird" votes then something's REALLY going on. And really going wrong. |
