Sidetracked? So you're saying that "the foundations of law" & legislation can & does supersede the Constitution of the United States of America?

Who'd of thought it :-)

Who'd of thought it :-)

Let's set the record straight what was my post was referencing.

Repeating the entire post, which you didn't.

Many continue to place emphasis on the constitution especially the 2nd amendment & what is required to change (amend) it. That argument begs a question:
Whatever happened to the constittution in this case?
Where is the amendment to allow that to occur?

If you really want a strange one, why can't I carry a machine gun onto an airplane?

My reply:

Machine guns, which one needs a very special permit to obtain and therefore, has nothing to do with the USA's Constitution, the majority of Americans belief, nor this Subject...

Let's not get sidetracked.

Sirius B... Please explain why the reference of bringing an automatic weapon aboard a plane has Constitutional issues, issues of our mass murders, or this Subject.

I believe that the Airplane/Automatic weapon post is sidetracking this issue.

Why isn't it?
YOU quoted my post. If just the machine gun reference, you should have omitted it, as you didn't...

...so stop being asinine!

However, I will continue to quote the entire post. When a partial quote misrepresents the context of the reply.
Incorrect! The original post is this from which the machine gun reply was made & to which you included that original & the reply in yours bringing up "sidetracked".

At least get it right. :-)

A link to the original is all that is needed and does not use bandwidth or don't you care about others?
Iv'e tried to spell it out you to you previously.

Why thank you kind sir for confirming me correct. If you wanted to reply to Gary's comment only, you should have omitted mine. I love it when a poster publicly admits their error :-)

As I see it the consensus of this forum is that the right to semiautomatic weapons is more important than reducing mass killings.

Since we have seen a text book perfect storm of not reducing mass killings. I'll keep mine.

Chicago is gun free city. Stop the killing in that city and I will seriously listen about more gun control. Disarming me is not part of the solution for Chicago.

Entering California you are inspected for fruit if I remember right. Been a few years. Don't like guns, stop it at the state line like Cal does with fruit.

Since I was replying to Gary's post and the context of Gary's reply was another post.

To avoid any misunderstanding of the context of Gary's reply, is very important.
So is the context of the original which once again, you failed to answered. Looking at "that" context you refer to, you are correct in that respect by mentioning "sidetracked" FROM the original question. However realising such side tracking, the question still stands.

Unfortunately this forum will never ever see you answer a straight forward question but what we have just seen, focussing on replies to said questions in an attempt to obfuscate the question.

Now in "that" context, you are the number one side tracker :-)

If bandwidth is an issue for you why not try limiting the number of posts you load into your browser from your forum preferences . Seems to work for everybody else.

For a couple of centuries at least, there is an old adage which is more valid today than it ever has been.
"The truth hurts"

In your case stop obfuscating & answer questions.

@Clyde
Admit it, you do have a record of replying to the wrong person.
An example in this sequence, just a few days ago.

I suspect it flows from his inability to read as we frequently see, I doubt his eyes can see the "- in response to Message ####" in the header, or comprehend that it is a link.

Rather than take another thread off on a tangent, it needs answering on this one.

Two statements, not questions.

One question "Agree" with an Ar 15 ban, and the last is my response. As a person who has repeatedly stated that all guns should disappear.

And I answered regarding the impossibility, because of our Constitution and Culture, to Ban any Rifle.

You may not disagree with my answer, but just a difference of opinion.

That is not an answer to what I posted.

Again you have failed, you are mixing things up, and making it very difficult for anyone else to see who or what you are replying too.

Just reply to what has been written. not what you think has been written.

I'm not but those verbose, redundant posts are murder for those on dial up or expensive data plan such as satellite.
That could be a partial explanation of why we don't have more diverse participation in the forums.
