A belief that there will be a substantial and meaningful change in our laws by our Federal Government and most States, is incorrect. So you are saying that ALL your laws currently on your books date from 1776/1791? Nothing has changed since then? |

Well to debunk Clyde's statement about state & federal law not being changed: Statehood When each achieved statehood, didn't they enact state laws. Didn't the federal government enact federal laws that encompass all 50 states? |

Between February 1 and April 30, 2018, a temporary weapon amnesty in Sweden applies. During the weapon amnesty you who have firearms and ammunition without permission , can hand it in to the police. You may be anonymous and will not be penalized for the possession. https://polisen.se/Aktuellt/amnesti/ Does it work? LOL Actually sometimes but not so much. Oh. It's not the first time there is an amnesty. And you could go to police and buy those weapons but it turned out that so many weapons were bought by not convicted criminals so the police stopped that:) https://youtu.be/Brcz6XB6u7Y |

So after all Florida has done something. Florida legislature backs new gun restrictions after Parkland school shooting A bipartisan vote of 67 to 50 in the state House ended an emotional three-week process, during which the state’s legislative leadership toured the bloodstained hallways at the high school and thousands of students marched on the state capitol in Tallahassee to demand change. |

Oh dear. :-( How on earth can this be an accidental shooting? What was the gun doing there in 1st place?? |

Oh dear. :-( Why even link this one, Wiggo? One student was killed and another was in critical condition after an accidental shooting during dismissal time at a high school in Birmingham, Alabama, police said. Note: The police chief of the city said the shooting was accidental. Also, 'school resource officers were on site at the time of the shooting'... 'School resource officers'... They ARE police. A school resource officer, by federal definition, is a career law enforcement officer with sworn authority who is deployed by an employing police department or agency in a community-oriented policing assignment to work in collaboration with one or more schools. https://nasro.org/frequently-asked-questions/ Metal detectors..... So, the campus was secure. The only firearms on campus should have been police (the SROs')... Both Police Chief Orlando Wilson AND Birmingham City School Superintendent Dr. Herring have said the shooting was accidental. (note: both Wilson and Herring are appointed Government officials.) Sorry, but I don't see too many ways this could be accidental other than one (or more) of the police SROs did something stupid-dumbass. https://youtu.be/iY57ErBkFFE #Texit Don't blame me, I voted for Johnson(L) in 2016. Truth is dangerous... especially when it challenges those in power. |

Why even link this one, Wiggo? Perhaps because like in the UK "guns and schools" do not go together, and I know of no schools in the UK that have armed guards of any sort. So it is a bit of a shock to think that a student can be "accidently" killed by someone who is suppose to be there to protect. |

Trump has been critically criticized for his way of dealing with and commenting on Florida's school shooting, and the possible action to arm teachers. Already during the meeting in the White House, where relatives of victims at former school shootings were at place, the president received criticism of a mother to one of the children killed in the massacre in Sandy Hook 2012 who said that instead of firearms, they should "arm them with knowledge ". And now a movement has been formed on social media. Under the hash tag #ArmMeWith, teachers respond with things they would rather be "armed" with, such as books, time and resources. |

Why even link this one, Wiggo? Ok, I can understand that line of reasoning. But... The 'School Resource Officers' are NOT armed 'security guards'. They ARE actual Police Officers. That said, some schools have armed 'security guards' either in place of or in addition to 'School Resource Officers'. Heck, even some County Courthouses have armed 'security guards' manning the metal detectors at the doors. But, 'School Resource Officer' is a specific term under Federal Law with a specific meaning... A 'School Resource Officer' IS a Police Officer that has a duty station at a school instead of a Police Station. I also understand that Police Officers in the UK are not usually armed... But here in the USA, they are armed. After all, some gangs of criminals over here in the USA are illegally armed with better weaponry than some Nation's military. And schools (especially in larger cities) are hotbeds of activity for these gangs. Street gangs... Biker gangs... Drug Gangs... In a lot of places, the Police are totally outgunned. https://youtu.be/iY57ErBkFFE #Texit Don't blame me, I voted for Johnson(L) in 2016. I'm so glad here in Australia that when we went to school GUNS and METAL detectors were not part of the kit, But Australia never needed it! Only USA has this issue..May take another cival war to oust that 2nd amendment to be inline with 2018.. |

Trump clutching at straws again. Guardian US ed. - Trump meeting with video game bosses revives tenuous link to gun violence If his idea's had any legs then shooting incidents inspired by games and TV would be a worldwide problem. |

I hear where coming from MK but truth be told America and it's very very very old 2nd amendment, has no place today its actually making it worse, today it's lack of respect and we can blame the movement of no smacking, yelling at our children (they are soft) Children today and last 20 years or more (World Wide) can't handle being told off by authority or (parents) not saying all but it's very apparent now, children now dictate to there parents!!..but add guns to the situation which you guys can get like candy just escalates it.. Worlds not perfect in 2018, but least I can walk down a dark path and not be to worried, but in US going to school is a life and death.. I really don't know what to add to your situation over there, Just hope you all wake up soon (Kids or Guns) |

The passions of the day has ruled you lot for decades, more since the NRA changed its tune years ago. How many more school tragedies have to occur before the highest passion in the land diminishes? |

Government's gun laws... ROFLMAO!! Over here, the criminals have millions of firearms illegally, including many firearms of illegal types. Any gun laws will only serve to disarm the law-abiding citizens, not the criminals. Plus, any the criminals do happen to turn in will be quickly replaced by smuggling. We have 12383 miles of coastlines, and 5920 miles of land borders. Firearms are already smuggled in illegally across these coasts and borders. Also they are hidden within otherwise legal freight shipments, and we do not have enough customs officers to totally search ALL incoming freight shipments arriving at ports or crossing the borders over roads in trucks. Yes, most gun smuggling is outgoing now over the US borders, but demand will create supply. Outlaw guns in the USA, the guns being smuggled into the USA will greatly increase. In your next post you said 'its 2018, not 1600.... Yes, it is, and the world is a much more dangerous place today than it was then. https://youtu.be/iY57ErBkFFE #Texit Don't blame me, I voted for Johnson(L) in 2016.
