These 1/2 plane, 1/2 flying fan Osprey "aircraft" have a bad history of crashing and falling out of the sky for no reason. IMHO I would not fly in it for that reason.
Except they are better than most of what the US military flies. See starting 11:30 https://youtu.be/QDBXwWlU64M?feature=shared&t=690

Another case of a heavy truck running up the back of a bus. :-(

Sixty people assessed by paramedics after truck and bus crash on Pacific Motorway near Beenleigh.

Paramedics have assessed at least 60 people — the majority of them children — after a truck and bus collided on the Pacific Motorway at Stapylton this morning.

Emergency services were called to the crash just before the Jacobs Well exit at about 9:40am.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) confirmed 55 people on the bus were students.

A QAS spokesperson said paramedics had assessed 60 patients, with two people, including the truck driver, transported to Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH) in a serious but stable condition.

One patient was transported in a serious but stable condition to Queensland Children's Hospital with leg and head injuries, and eight stable patients have been taken to Logan Hospital.

The spokesperson said other patients involved in the collision had been assessed and were uninjured......
Thankfully the truck was unloaded at the time or it could've been much worse.

Looking at that picture the trailer sure looks loaded and the ground around the bus looks like the load spilled from the truck. Could be wrong.

Nah; while the cover is over the trailer, but there's nothing in there (you can just see into the trailer as the drone comes back just before the end of the clip).

No it was totally empty.

What you see on the road behind the bus is "kitty litter" to soak up all the oil, diesel and other fluids that spilled from the bus' destroyed engine, gearbox and possibly the drive axle as well as the lot was driven forward in the chassis. ;-)

I had to attend to several of these types of accidents and inspected the end results in the past, the engine gets totally broken while the crankshaft is driven into the gearbox shattering it and as there's very little slide action to their very short drive shafts the diff center usually gets punched out so all than needs a great deal of "kitty litter" to clean up. We use to carry 2 x 100L bags of the stuff around in the back of our inspectors' vehicles, but it was never anywhere near enough for just a busted engine alone.

Well that's what you get when using dodgy parts to stay in the air.

Footage has captured the shock moment a Russian cargo plane engine exploded mid-air, just shortly after takeoff.

It just goes to show you what happens when inferior parts just to keep a fleet in the air. ;-)

The reporting from the Sun just gets worse & worse. No matter how many times they say say the engine exploded- the fact is it didn't. Even the very first sentence is wrong- "Dramatic footage shows the moment a Russian cargo plane exploded minutes after taking off." Complete and utter crap.

It wasn't the plane, it was the engine. It didn't explode, it surged.
What will be of interest in the investigation is why the crew didn't immediately reduce the power on that engine- the surging shouldn't have gone on for as long as it did. And extended surging like that does kill turbine jet engines.

I certainly wouldn't want to get onto any Russian aircraft these days.

Russian Plane Malfunctions Tripled in Just One Year as Sanctions Bite.

Russian plane malfunctions have tripled in just one year as Western sanctions imposed in response to Russian President Vladimir Putin's war in Ukraine suffocate the aviation industry.

There have been a vast number of cases in recent months of Russian domestic passenger planes making emergency landings due to technical issues, driven by a lack of spare parts.

Russian-operated planes have been sanctioned by the U.S. government, and aircraft manufacturers have stopped delivering spare parts and new planes to the country.

Data compiled by Newsweek shows that from September 2023 to December 8, 2023, Russia saw a total of 60 commercial aviation incidents that involved emergency landings, engine fires and malfunctions, along with other technical issues forcing the planes to abandon their intended routes.

There were 15 incidents in September; 25 in October; 12 in November; and eight by December 8, Newsweek found......
You'd certainly be playing Russian Roulette if yo do get on 1.

Cheers.

Now most powerlines in that region at the bottom of the hill have orange and white balls on them so that they can be seen, but sadly this 1 got tripped down. :-(

Two dead in light plane crash at Lilydale, north of Grafton in northern NSW.

After a number of "mysterious" crashes action is being taken:

My choice of out takes is:
But Tesla said the system's controls "may not be sufficient to prevent driver misuse".

An example of people that are too stupid to be allowed to hold a driver's licence.

It also an example of a Diet Coked fueled moron that calls adaptive cruise control "auto-pilot" when it's nothing like the real thing and then even the pilots running the real thing have to be vigilant just in case.

Call it for what it really is and stupid people may stop doing stupid things with it. ;-)
