Brain fog would be the factor. If you can't stop before you travel past where you can see when you hit stop, that isn't weather fog, that is brain fog!

Fog was a factor, but the main cause was people that weren't smart enough to drive according to the prevailing conditions.

Travelers to Grímsfjall need to check that a quite large crack has opened in the middle of the road on the east way up to Fjall, between driving points that are named A1 and A2.
This is not a small crack but a corpse that eats cars lightly. It would be advisable to drive a little south of the traditional route up from the dump.

The cabin on that flight was a very uncomfortable and disturbing place to be, but the cockpit must have been really scary. Well done to the flight crew on getting that aircraft onto the ground.

Yet another example of why morons and motorised vehicles aren't a good combination.

Tyre marks indicate it crossed several verges and a side street before smashing through Mr Olson's fence and hedge.
It then ploughed through his verandah and stairs, crashing into his parked four-wheel-drive and damaging the front wall of a neighbour's property.
The vehicle was eventually wedged on top of Mr Olson's Toyota LandCruiser and a neighour's car.
