Well Tiger Woods has done it again. Tiger Woods hospitalized after rollover crash. Maybe it's time to take his drivers license away, but it maybe too late for this truck driver who took on a train. Smoke plumes fill air after 18-wheeler collides with train. Carrying a load of carrying coal and petrol isn't a good idea when taking on a train though. |

it maybe too late for this truck driver who took on a train. That's what happens when you build transport systems that have to cross. If you won't build the pipeline separate the grade crossings. No Darwin award on this one. |

I wonder if that trailer has ever been expected for road worthiness or if anyone bothered to check its load rating and weight/load positioning specs. Cheers. |

I wonder if that trailer has ever been expected for road worthiness or if anyone bothered to check its load rating and weight/load positioning specs. It wouldn't surprise me if the load was within the rating of the trailer. Of course the trailer load rating would be for a load spread out along it's entire length, not having the total rated load placed on one small section... Grant Darwin NT |

Maybe so, but what about common sense? |

Maybe so, but what about common sense? It's not all that common. |

It may have been within the rated weight load of the trailer, but there are specific load positions for concentrated heavy loads most of which usually need the load to be centered over the 1st or 2nd axle of that type of trailer depending on the concentration of that weight, and then again it may have also been a S.A. registered trailer that has never had a safety inspection in its life so could've been suffering severe metal fatigue and/or corrosion of the frame rails. About 15-20 years ago S.A. registered trailers were banned from N.S.W. roads because they were deemed a safety hazard here due to them never being safety inspected. ;-)I wonder if that trailer has ever been expected for road worthiness or if anyone bothered to check its load rating and weight/load positioning specs. It wouldn't surprise me if the load was within the rating of the trailer. Cheers. |

9/10 their insurance is also invalidated. Looks like there is another empty seat there. Car wasn't full, he could have got 2 or 3 boxes in there! :D Happy Crunching, Graham |

Some can be lucky. US couple rescued from car dangling over a bridge 30m over a gorge. An elderly couple had a lucky escape after their ute crashed through a bridge barrier, leaving them dangling precariously above a 30m canyon. Cheers. |
