Personal experience of dealing with people from the countries concerned suggests to me that both Ethiopia and Indonesia are somewhat more honest than Pakistan - not up to US/Europe, but not at the bottom of the list either. That's not just the odd one, that's a third of their pilots. Forgery on an industrial scale coupled with corporate greed and blindness. Vietnam has also grounded all pilots with Pakistan Pilots Licenses Old enough to know better(but)still young enough not to care |

How many times do they have to remind people "TURN AROUND - DON'T DROWN!" Woman Miraculously Survives After Being Swept Through Storm Drain for Nearly a Mile ... The car and the woman traveled through the complex labyrinthine brook, and it didn’t take long before Bruno was spit out into the river, about a mile from where the incident started. |

Warnings have now been put out about Boeing 737's engine air bleed valves and corrosion issues during COVID-19 storage. Airlines' Grounded Boeing 737s May Have Developed Fatal Engine Defect in Storage: FAA. According to the FAA, the engines on several variants of Boeing's 737 airliner have developed issues whilst sitting around for so long, grounded due to low demand for air travel. Although there haven't been any crashes or forced landings yet, single engines have failed four times during flight so far.As if Boeing needs more problems, but the 737 MAX isn't involved with this time. Cheers. |

We should keep our eyes on the A32x family as they use the same engines. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

We should keep our eyes on the A32x family as they use the same engines. Notice how the press makes an engine problem an airframe problem. |

We should keep our eyes on the A32x family as they use the same engines. Well, it does look to be the problem is with Boeing's parts and Boeing's design that have been bolted onto the engine... (Also suggesting that part of the system is different on the A32x aircraft.) Stay safe! What the... How can this be safe? Boeing 747s still get critical updates via floppy disks Boeing’s 747-400 aircraft, first introduced in 1988, is still receiving critical software updates through 3.5-inch floppy disks. The Register reports that security researchers at Pen Test Partners recently got access to a British Airways 747, after the airline decided to retire its fleet following a plummet in travel during the coronavirus pandemic. The team was able to inspect the full avionics bay beneath the passenger deck, with its data center-like racks of modular black boxes that perform different functions for the plane. |

What the... How can this be safe? How are you going to screw with a floppy? Now an internet connected airplane ... . If you didn't know the FAA updates the US navigation database every 28 days and has for decades. When it started it was paper and they still print it with ink on paper - FLIP charts. Jeppesen is the leading commercial redistributor of the database. They also print ink on paper - Jepp charts - as well as many electronic formats including 747 floppies. Guess who owns Jeppesen? Boeing! ergo a Boeing floppy in a Boeing airplane. If you just are upset that it is a floppy and not some kind of USB stick, to make that change they would have to recertify the entire avionics system. Not as cheap as making the switch on your desktop! |
