Blin. Russian sailors.. https://youtu.be/aksA5r6RnfA The Russian-flagged Seagrand vessel created a five-meter hole when it rammed into the highway bridge in the port of Busan, South Korea. The captain ignored warnings from coast guards to change course because “he didn’t understand English well†Less than an hour before damaging the bridge, the Seagrand had also hit a cruise ship moored at the same port. My favourite bridge. (Stuntney Bridge in Ely) :-) Note the 1st photo. It is Over or Under. ![]() Sadly, some drivers don't like going over because of the wait at the level crossing, so this happens... ![]() ...a few days ago. |

The road going under the overpassing road needs to be lowered or to prohibit trucks, obviously a warning is not good enough.I did say: Note the 1st photo. No need to lower anything, there is an overpass for all high vehicles. :-) |

![]() https://www.elystandard.co.uk/news/lorry-hits-railway-bridge-in-ely-1-5917630 Since 2009 the bridge – crowned the UK’s most bashed bridge in an informal annual ‘competition’ – has now been struck more than 100 times. |

Reminds me of a bridge In the neighborhood I grew up in a semi trailer struck it about once a month for several years until they put up warning signs at the traffic light 1/4 mile away and painted the top a bright yellow color. |

Views from the other side. As seen, no need for anything to be lowered. Been over that bridge many times over the past 34 years & yet to drive a vehicle small enough to go under it. :-) ![]() ![]() In all that time, never been caught for long at the level crossing. |

Since I didn't notice what you said, people there may not also. The bridge is signposted both sides with regards to high vehicles. I believe we covered this in an earlier transport thread. ANY driver that does not know the size & height of his Goods vehicle should not be on the road. |

What about cars under 2.0m? Sorry Vic, you're not thinking straight.Views from the other side. As seen, no need for anything to be lowered. Been over that bridge many times over the past 34 years |

ANY driver that does not know the size & height of his Goods vehicle should not be on the road. Ever heard of 11ft 8, has it own you tube channel The 11 foot 8 Bridge (formally known as the Norfolk Southern–Gregson Street Overpass and nicknamed The Can-Opener) is a railroad bridge in Durham, North Carolina, United States, that has attracted media coverage and popular attention because tall vehicles such as trucks, buses, and RVs frequently collide with the unusually low overpass, I am sure you will like a few of these: 11ft 8 You tube |

:-) Made aware of that by Kittyman. Do you remember "The Knowledge"? I've always maintained that those Bus/Goods drivers that do "regular" runs should do a "knowledge run" on their routes WITH a BIG sign on their bike/car showing the height of the vehicles they drive regularly. No excuse afterwards if they hit a bridge. |

Well, if a bridge gets hit too much it may be time for an active defense system. Put a light beam across the road on the approach at clearance height. Have it trigger a flashing warning sign to take the bypass. Right after the bypass hang a nice heavy pipe at the same height as the bridge so they hit that first. and maybe figure out to stop before they hit the bridge. As to that low bridge sign, maybe needs a picture of a HGV being can opened by a bridge. Maybe a "NO LORRIES" painted on the road right after the bypass. Even with all that some sleep deprived, late on the run reckless idiot will still hit it, but with that much warning stuff charging him with reckless should be a slam dunk. |

This time a tunnel and a gas tank on a roof?! https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/reports-service-bus-explodes-stockholm-61588449?cid=clicksource_4380645_1_heads_hero_live_headlines_hed Rescue worker Asa Skold told Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet the bus appeared to have collided with barriers at the top of the shallow tunnel's entrance, causing a gas tank on the vehicle's roof to explode. |

According to Keolis that runs our public buses in Stockholm, the buses should not go through the Klara tunnel. "We have our driving routes. It would not have gone there. This applies to all of our buses that are so high. It is a clear instruction to our drivers." Then of course there are warning signs (height max 3.0 m) some 50 meters before the tunnel but the driver seems to have ignored that and hit a security barrier in front of the tunnel. About the bio-gas tanks on the roof, Keolis said it doesn't matter where they are if an accident occurs. ![]() |

They estimate that the fleet is saving 345,000 tons of fuel per year and it is reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 1.35 million tons.Is that "before" or after the offset of the fuel & carbon emissions that produces the electricity for that fleet? |

Actually China is now leading the world in renewables, China’s solar energy explosion reveals a dim future for fossil fuels — here’s what it looks like, so don't be surprised if most of the power to charge them comes from renewables. An even more updated report, China Is Set To Become The World's Renewable Energy Superpower, According To New Report. Cheers. |
