Well the girl's match didn't see the day out, as expected, with the Aussies winning by and innings and 284 runs.

Holy cow.

‘Can’t believe it’: Batter stuns cricket with back-to-back one hand sixes.

Spanish batter Muhammad Babar has left jaws on the floor after blasting back-to-back sixes while swinging with just one hand.

In game five of a five-match European Cricket League T10 series, the Czech Republic set 7/117 for Spain to chase.

Spain, who won all five of the matches and had smashed scores of 6/206 and 3/184 earlier in the series, made short work of the chase.

This was mainly thanks to Babar who hit 83 not out off just 26 balls, belting nine sixes and five fours as Spain won the match by nine wickets with 17 balls remaining.

But it wasn’t just that Baber exploded with the bat, it was how he brought up the runs that raised eyebrows.

With the score 1/97 in the seventh over, Babar went for a big shot, choosing to go one handed.

The first time he tried, the ball went straight up in the air but somehow fell in the gap.

“Have you seen anything like this?” the commentator said. “Muhammad Babar goes for a one-handed shot and he’s going to get two.”

But if the commentator was impressed by that, his jaw was on the floor after the next two balls.....

And some wonder where the "whinging Pom" moniker came from. :-(

Former England captain Joe Root has declared the 2021/22 Ashes “arguably” shouldn’t have gone ahead in Australia.

Former England captain Joe Root has declared the 2021/22 Ashes series “arguably” shouldn’t have gone ahead due to Australia’s Covid-19 restrictions.

England’s players were tasked with following biosecurity protocols throughout the five-Test campaign, which Australia won 4-0. ......
Some just have to get over the fact that they just wern't good enough and it's long past time to get over it and admit it.

Sirius beat me to the shocking story, but he failed to see this in the BBC Sports page, which he said he read.
0 not out off 137 balls - club cricketer plays epic innings
An opening batter in club cricket faced 137 balls for 0 not out in a bizarre match on Saturday.
Ian Bestwick helped Darley Abbey Cricket Club's 4th XI finish on 21-4 after 45 overs against Mickleover 3rd XI - 251 runs short of victory.
Both teams are at the bottom of the table in Division Nine south of the Derbyshire Cricket League.
Thomas Bestwick also contributed four from 71 balls - the runs all coming off one scoring shot - and Nicholas Cutting finished unbeaten on 0 from 34 balls, with nine extras contributing to the score.

The longest innings without scoring in test cricket is New Zealand's, Geoff Allott who lasted 77 balls in 1999.

I watched a good close T20i last night between our girls and the Kiwis.

Phoebe Litchfield stars in Australia's five-wicket T20 win over New Zealand.

Then finding out this morning that our boys did a job on the Poms in their ODI match.

Travis Head untouchable as Aussies match second-best streak in history.

I'm ready for a summer of cricket.

I'd love to have been in the ground for that match - no shortage of runs and wickets, all too often test matches are devoid of one or the other. An innings and 47 with 823 for 7 on the board, then the other side puts on 776 is the thing of dreams for a spectator.

Well that was a total mismatch.

The cricketing world has been rocked by the biggest massacre the sport has ever seen with uncomfortable scenes unfolding.

Cricket records have been blown to pieces as Zimbabwe bashed a ridiculous total of 4-344 in their T20 World Cup qualification match against Gambia on Wednesday night.

The insane total is a new record in International T20 cricket and the batting barrage also smashed several other records.

Sikandar Raza stole the show at the Ruaraka Sports Club Ground in Nairobi with an innings of 133 not out from 43 deliveries.......

Now that has to hurt.

England’s Bazball revolution has hit a major speed bump after they were blown off the park in a historic result for Pakistan.

.....After an innings and 47 run loss in the first Test, Pakistan claimed a 152-run victory in Multan in the second Test before wrapping up the decider in a crushing nine wicket victory......
