Egypt Air and the Interior Ministry have, however, denied any arrest has been made, saying the investigation was still ongoing.

An Egypt Air mechanic, who is the cousin of an Isis fighter, has been detained on suspicion of being the mole at an Egyptian airport who planted an explosive device on a Russian plane that blew up in mid-air late last year, it has been reported. Security sources told Reuters that the aircraft worker is the main suspect in the crash of Metrojet flight KGL9268 that came down in the restive Sinai Peninusla last October.

Not to take anything away from the thread but it has highlighted one important fact - Airline staff.

Not quite sure of the year, but I believe it was within the last 3. Several British Airways staff were prosecuted for divulging personal details to their cronies who were burgling the properties of those going on holiday.

The next step would have been what has occured in Egypt.

One can only go so far with security!

An unidentified man was sucked out of a passenger jet at 14,000 feet after a suspected bomb blasted a hole through the side of the fuselage just five minutes after the Airbus A321 took off from Mogadishu.

Eyewitnesses claim the badly burned body of an elderly man fell to the earth about 15 miles away from the airport at the time of the blast.

AIrline officials claim two people were injured by the blast which punched a hole in the aluminum fuselage about six foot by three foot in size.

A senior editor at Aviation Week has pointed out the similarity of the damage on Flight D3159 to the infamous TWA 840 flight bombing in 1986.

That TWA flight had a bomb hidden beneath a seat on board. When the bomb exploded, the cabin depressurized and four people, including a 7-month-old infant, were sucked out of the plane's cabin. Seven more people were injured from shrapnel in the blast.
