I volunteer at an art museum, here, and one of the things they have is a theatre that shows indie art films. This one was shown, this afternoon:

Stephen King had a cameo in Mr. Mercedes last week. I actually saw him before someone had to tell me he was there.

The chef in the diner, right?
Lori and I pick him out as the one.
We are watching that crazy series as well.
Wonder if they shall drag this thing out into another season.

Well I believe there was a second, related book written by Mr. King. I think.
That could be the second season. (Just Googled it. Finders Keepers.)

This show is surprisingly vulgar. A lot of what we've seen certainly wouldn't be shown on any other network, I think. (For those who don't know, it's on the Audience channel.)

Actually......
I just looked, and according to the list on wikipedia, Mr. Mercedes is part of a Bill Hodges trilogy!
So apparently, Mr. King takes his clever detective through three full novels.
And I like Brendan Gleeson very very much in the role. My favorite character in the TV version.
Will be interesting to see if they do all three.

I tried to record the Vietnam series. I managed to record the first episode but wasn't given the "Record Series" option at that time by DirecTV. I didn't realize the series would not be one episode per week, so I missed a couple of episodes. It wasn't until episode four that I managed to set up the "Record Series" option. I won't watch it until I can figure out how to get access to those two missing episodes. The PBS station doesn't have an "on demand/streaming" option.

I finished watching "The Sinner." (The series was only 6-8 episodes - I forget the exact number.) I'd give it three stars out of five. The ending was definitely a surprise, but I guess I was hoping for something more devious. o_O

Again?! What's this? The third one in as many weeks?
And still I've heard no response from our "government." :-(

I use DirecTv, too, Suzie. Sometimes the "Record Series" option doesn't automatically pop up like it should, which is rather odd, but even in this digital world we live in today there are still idiosyncrasies.

I imagine it`s a copyright thing.
Here in germany some shows and movies are blocked from recording by the production company.

Very true. One which annoys me a lot. The DVD & Blu-ray set is available in the US & Canada but there is no international shipping from PBS (from what I can see anyway).

However the DVD (can't see the Blu-ray available) set is available here from 30th October so pre ordered a set. There is also a 640 page accompanying hardcover book.

I thought the DVR had taped the new Star Trek, but alas apparently 60 Minutes ran over time, and the show got missed. :~(
