:)

There are many those stories, Annie
People that are buying pets like cats and dogs.
Fun for a couple of weeks. Then....
Thankfully there are people that gladly will take care of those pets left from their "owners".

Perhaps Lana, Umka and Volya will meet soon.

Tosca says Arf, arf :) :)

Dog is unhappy again this wet weekend as I'm not letting her off the chain (all 13' of it) so she has to spend her time on her bed in her 10'x10' shed, sitting on its verandah or laying under her it (but she will stay dry and no one get muddy paw marks on them).

Yep seeing that I have a big shed she has 1 too. ;-)

Cheers.

For some reason two pigeons like our balcony.
One bring twigs here to make a nest.
But we have a dog here.
A poodle and she always run after birds outside.
And she has met the pigeons on our balcony but doesn't react at all.
Just sniffing.
And the pigeons don't even react to me anymore.
Very strange...

Phoenix Arizona.
A heat wave of up to 50 degrees (122 degrees fahrenheit) plagues the city and southwestern United States, and even the inhabitants of the desert residents claims that the heat is not bearable.
A pet store in a Phoenix suburb shared this week boots to pets to avoid burning their paws.

I miss Tosca.
Because of my GF's illness she is now staying in good hands in a family we trust.
But I guess Tosca miss her teddy bear.
And checking our neighborhood from intruders.

Please post/share this everywhere. It amazes me how many people
still don't understand how hot the inside of a car can get, even with
the "windows cracked."

Just the other day I passed our parking lot.
One car had it's rear window smashed and some stickers attached to the broken window saying that it was a dog suffering inside.
So sad:(

VIDEO: Lost dog carries his food in wake of Harvey

SINTON, Texas -- A hurricane can damage buildings and property, but it can't damage this animal's hunger.

A Facebook post showing a lost dog trotting with a bag of dog food in his mouth is gaining traction the morning after Harvey's landfall on the central Texas coast.
According to the original poster, the dog somehow got loose in the wake of the storm. He was then spotted strutting through a neighborhood in the town of Sinton, which is outside of Corpus Christi.

The poster later said the canine named Otis and his owner reunited.

"I don't know where he got the dog food from," the picture-taker Tiele Dockens said.

Tackling the canine obesity crisis

When it comes to man's best friend, science may finally have solved the mystery of their gluttony - some Labradors, it seems, are genetically predisposed to being hungry.

That's according to scientists who were discussing their ongoing mission to improve our favourite pets' health at the British Science Association Festival in Brighton.

Several research teams in the UK are on a mission to improve canine health.

Researchers at the University of Cambridge have studied the appetite of Britain's favourite dog breed, and suggest Labradors are genetically at risk of becoming overweight.

Roughly a quarter of British households own a pet dog, and Labrador retrievers remain our most popular canine companion.

However, this stereotypically "greedy" breed often suffers size-related health problems.

Apparently 30% of the Scandinavian dogs are obese.
"Like master like dog" perhaps.

Our dog though have the opportunity to eat how much she like.
But she doesn't overeat at all. Leaving often food that she's been served.
Sometimes I wonder if she eats to little.
But no says the vet. And she is very active and happy:)

CPR works for dogs as well.
"I hear strange sounds and I see the dog Best at 150 meters distance, I never forget that look. With his eyes he says "please help me". He tries to desperately breathe, "says Johan Haraldsson.
Johan quickly went there and cries on the radio to the dog's owner, and she says that Johan should start watching if the dog has something in his throat. After that, the CPR lesson starts.
"I see directly that the dog's tongue is very blue, I put my fingers in his throat and start digging out badly. Then I continue to blow air through the nose. After two to three blows, I see that the dog is getting back and the color returns to the tongue, says Johan Haraldsson.

The good dog who is bad at sniffing out bombs

This is Lulu, the Labrador who joined the CIA as one of their newest recruits. Her mission: to sniff out explosives.
But weeks into her training programme Lulu just wasn't making the grade. A life at the United States Central Intelligence Agency, it seems, was not for her.

So she had to be dropped from the puppy class of 2017.

In a series of updates on Wednesday, the CIA's official Twitter account posted detailed reasons why Lulu would no longer be part of their sniffer-dog programme, the K-9 Corps.
