Feel sorry for this nurse. Ebola nurse Pauline Cafferkey flown to London hospital Scots nurse Pauline Cafferkey has been flown to London after being admitted to hospital in Glasgow for a third time since contracting Ebola. The 40-year-old from South Lanarkshire had been in a "stable" condition at Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth Hospital. She was put on an RAF Hercules aircraft which took her to London where she was taken to the Royal Free Hospital. Ms Cafferkey was treated there twice in 2015 after contracting Ebola in Sierra Leone the previous year. http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-35639748 |

CDC Reports 14 New Cases of Sexually Transmitted Zika in U.S. Fourteen more people may have caught the Zika virus in the U.S. without traveling to affected zones, federal health officials said Tuesday — strong evidence that the virus is sexually transmitted fairly often. Some of those suspected of having been infected sexually have been pregnant women, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says. http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/zika-virus-outbreak/now-it-s-15-cases-sexually-transmitted-zika-virus-us-n524286 |

Ebola 'devastates long-term health' Most people who survive an Ebola infection will have long-lasting health problems, say doctors from the US National Institutes of Health. Their studies on survivors in Liberia showed large numbers had developed weakness, memory loss and depressive symptoms in the six months after being discharged from an Ebola unit. http://www.bbc.com/news/health-35652095 |

CDC Reports 14 New Cases of Sexually Transmitted Zika in U.S. Not good as if there aren't enough STD's out there all ready . Well this may be a bit wrong but at least now the antiabortion mob can't now , say a female that knows early enough in the pregnancy weather her child will be bourn with a severe mental deformity and wants to abort ,that she should be stopped from doing it. |

'Super lice' outbreak hits 25 states A strain of so-called ‘super lice’ has hit a reported 25 states, causing concern and frustration among parents because the bugs can’t be killed with most over-the-counter treatments. The treatments, known as pyrethroids, had a 100 percent success rate in 2000 against lice but now only work in 25 percent of cases, KSDK.com reported. http://www.foxnews.com/health/2016/02/26/super-lice-outbreak-hits-25-states.html |

CDC sends 'disease detectives' to Wisconsin after 18 deaths Elizabethkingia, a bacteria often difficult to treat with antibiotics, has been linked to 18 deaths and 44 cases of infection in southern Wisconsin since Dec. 29, prompting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to send five "disease detectives" to assist in a widening investigation. Several dozen state and local epidemiologists and lab workers are also involved. Investigators trying to determine how people are coming in contact with the bacteria have tested a variety of potential sources including healthcare products, water and environmental sources. None has been found to be the source of the infections. http://www.jsonline.com/news/health/cdc-sends-disease-detectives-to-wisconsin-after-18-deaths-b99680737z1-370920941.html |

Study: Study provides 'strongest evidence yet' linking Zika, birth defects A new study provides the strongest evidence yet that the Zika virus is the cause of devastating birth defects seen in Brazil, home to the largest outbreak of the disease. Authors of the new study have followed 88 pregnant women in Brazil to see whether being infected with Zika, which is spread by mosquitoes, increases the rate of birth defects. Seventy-two of the women tested positive for the virus. The women's blood and urine were tested five days or less after they developed an itchy rash, a tell-tale symptom of Zika. Other symptoms of Zika infection included fever, pink eye, swollen lymph nodes and joint pain. Most people with Zika have no symptoms. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2016/03/04/study-provides-strongest-evidence-yet-linking-zika-birth-defects/81318418/ |

Investigation: U.S. company bungled Ebola response An American company that bills itself as a pioneer in tracking emerging epidemics made a series of costly mistakes during the 2014 Ebola outbreak that swept across West Africa - with employees feuding with fellow responders, contributing to misdiagnosed Ebola cases and repeatedly misreading the trajectory of the virus, an Associated Press investigation has found. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/american-company-metabiota-problems-during-ebola-outbreak/ |
