I installed BOINC, and I started processing work units, but I'd like to be able to see what my computer is doing with the data/what the data it's processing is. everything works fine, and I set the screensaver to BOINC to turn on after a minute, and set BOINC to use the GPU, even when it's doing things, just so I could see it work.

after a minute of waiting, nothing. the screensaver didn't turn on at all.
I tried to just highlight work and click the show graphics button, but it's greyed out, and inactive. what am I doing wrong?

^see anything wrong with this?^

edit, the screensaver worked, but displayed no graph, only the BOINC logo fading in and out and a work progress bar.

it's a bit dark, but this is it

If you are using your GPU then this is normal behavior. Some have managed to get ti working, but many have not.

In the first image you posted I see in the status column "Running (0.0544 CPU...". The image cuts off the rest of the text, but that is usually what is displayed when SETI@home is running on your GPU. The GPU crunching application does not have a screen saver, so you will get the default BOINC screen saver as you saw.

Only applications running on your CPU will have a screen saver.

You have about 20 tasks downloaded, so there is work for your computer to do.
So, if nothing is running then its one of the settings that is stopping them running. The most common are that the delay between you stopping doing something and SETI starting is too long, or the level at which Not in use" is set too low for your computer. From memory the default time for you not moving the mouse, or pressing a key is two or three minutes, this is generally OK. For the level of other work setting it is normally 20%, which can be far too low as the operation of anti-virus software can stop SETI from running. Both these settings are available in the "advanced" view in BOINC's GUI.

Thank you, yeah I figured it out in the end, all running smoothly now and have had a few pieces validated already :-) the graphics box on the screensaver isn't working though, just an empty box showing time , frequency etc. :-)

That's an issue with Intel HD graphics. You can try checking for a newer graphics driver, but otherwise I think the bug remains.

Thanks OzzFan :-) I already have the latest drivers. Had problems with Intel HD Graphics 4000 before, when I first downloaded the windows 10 app it said there was aa problem with 1 device, the aforementioned one :P , I installed the Intel Driver update utility 2.0 and it tells me i have the latest updates, but since I installed it the windows 10 app is now telling me all my devices and apps are fully compatible for windows 10 :P ...go figure

Update...I changed the colour of the graphics and changed it to 'minimalist' setting and the graphics working now. even if I put the graphics back to the original it still works....weird :P

I'm having the exact same problem, any fix for this yet?
