Yes... Happy New Year.

No, I don't know Russian... Yet.
Just Google Translate.

Hehe:)
Google Translate works pretty well with germanic languages such as english, german and swedish.
But when it comes to other language groups...
Western languages like Russian and Finnish...
The result often become understandable.

Without fantasies and horror stories... Some understanding of Russian point can occur after listening two speeches of Putin (it was in 2016 and in 2007). It's with English subtitles.

Just words.

One understands people by their actions.

You have a habit to think that a politicians tell an indistinct and unconcrete words. Most Westerners didn't think in 2007 that Putin's words is an accurate prognosis and designation of the subsequent actions. But the tests of the new ballistic missiles in Russia is clear confirmation of those words.

"All Hail Putin" is not in my vocabulary.

Not in the Russian vocabulary either.
Putin was and is voted a President by the Russian people in a democratic way.
A problem to us neighbours to Russia though is that Putin doesn't like the EU and definitely not the NATO.
He thinks that NATO is a threat to Russia and he is worried about the "expansion" of NATO in Europe.
Shouldn't it be up to every sovereign country to choose their allies whatever they are without threats.

Drink and have some fun

A man rammed into a shopfront after losing control of a stolen armored vehicle and hitting a parked car.
The man then entered the store to steal a bottle of wine, with which he was later arrested.

Russian artillery has destroyed a depot storing militants' drones located in the Idlib province.
The Russian Defense Ministry has announced that the group of militants that conducted a massive mortar attack targeting the Russian Hmeymim base in Syria on December 31 were eliminated in the course of a special operation.
"During the final stage of the operation, a group of Russian Special Operations Forces established the location of the subversive group of militants near the western border of the Idlib province. Upon the terrorists' arrival at the facility where they were preparing to board to a minibus, the entire sabotage group was destroyed by a Krasnopol high-precision artillery shell," the Russian military said in a statement.

Igor, good read.
The article may be historically accurate but it deflects from Russia's current lawless corruption problems and international political meddling.
Thanx.

International political meddling was discussed on Russian state TV only three weeks ago.
Rossia 1 TV:
Host says that - according to MFA's (the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation) Maria Zakharova - Americans refused to sign an agreement with Russia about mutual non-interference.
State TV host adds: "Therefore, we will continue meddling in each others' affairs."

Oh Igor.
Many Russians cannot afford to go to Sheregesh for a nice holiday.
But a Tracksuit (Tri Poloski of course), Hat, Chain, and an Accordion.
Thats all you need. A bit of vodka wont hurt.

Results of Russian outbound tourism for 9 months of 2017. Statistics of 2017 showed that the touristic outbound trips from Russia have grown by almost a third in comparing with 2016.

LOL.
From Putin's 2018 campaign website and his knowledge in foreign languages.
Владеет немецким и английским языками.
Ok He speaks German fluently.
But English...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FiFAeluRtao
Actually I think he speaks better Swedish than English:)
In an interview with the Moscow Times, Sergey Ivanov, Putin's old KGB mate and his former chief of staff reveals that the president also speaks Swedish.
When they meet, they often speak Swedish with each other.
- The President speaks good German and I speak English. Swedish is somewhere between, he says to the newspaper.
They both joined the KGB in 1975 and became good friends a year later. Putin was later stationed in East German Dresden. Ivanov went to Helsinki and worked for the Soviet embassy for several years.

Le Huffington Post: If vodka is still a national drink, the Russians, with an average consumption of 12.2 liters of pure alcohol per year per person, drink less than the French (13.3 liters), the Portuguese (12.6 liters) or Germans (13.4 liters), according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

Message 1913474 - Posted: 17 Jan 2018, 12:28:17 UTC - in response to Message 1913448.

Russian adults drank an average of 10 liters of pure alcohol in 2016, 33% less than they consumed in 2009.
Euromonitor says the country's official alcoholic drinks market declined by an average of 5% each year between 2009 and 2016.
But Georgij Grebinskij, a lead analyst at Euromonitor, said that higher taxes and a weak domestic economy are to blame for increased consumption of illegal booze.
http://www.euromonitor.com/alcoholic-drinks-in-russia/report
"Stating that consumption of alcohol in Russia decreased by a third would not be entirely correct -- we rather observed redistribution of spending from legal to illicit alcohol," Grebinskij said.
