Old Ry is still alive and kicking, far as I can determine.

Ry wiki.
Not to be confused with rye whiskey...LOL

I have to get some things in order this morning, but I intend to make a trip sober enough to get some more hootch.

Wish me well, and fondue to you.

It's not Ry who had a drinking problem.
It's his drummer in the band Jim Keltner who had:)
Here is the lyric.

I saw that Ry played with Captain Beefheart, Frank Zappas old pal:)

Far older than that....
True story.

Horton told this tale years ago.
'The Drummer is a Rummer, And He Cannot Hold the Beat.'

Rumors still abound as to whether he actually passed this on after he died or not.
The quote still stands.

And there are a few things in his wiki that I have not substantiated.

Mostly around his death and fellow drummer Kilgore.

Did he know or did he not?
Battle of New Orleans.

You decide for yourselves.

The battle of the Bismark.

Unsinkable Sam" (also known as "Oscar") was the nickname given to a ship's cat who saw service in both the Kriegsmarine and Royal Navy during the Second World War, serving on board three vessels and surviving the sinking of all three.

Bismarck
The black and white patched cat had been owned by an unknown crewman of the German battleship Bismarck. He was on board the ship on 18 May 1941 when it set sail on Operation Rheinübung, Bismarck's first and only mission. Bismarck was sunk after a fierce sea-battle on 27 May, from which only 115 from its crew of over 2,200 survived. Hours later, Oscar was found floating on a board and picked from the water, the only survivor to be rescued by the homeward-bound British destroyer HMS Cossack. Unaware of what his name had been on Bismarck, the crew of Cossack named their new mascot "Oscar".

HMS Cossack
He served on board Cossack for the next few months as it carried out convoy escort duties in the Mediterranean and north Atlantic. On 24 October 1941, Cossack was escorting a convoy from Gibraltar to the United Kingdom when it was severely damaged by a torpedo fired by the German submarine U-563.Crew were transferred to the destroyer HMS Legion, and an attempt was made to tow the badly listing Cossack back to Gibraltar, but worsening weather conditions meant the task became impossible and had to be abandoned. On 27 October, a day after the tow was slipped, Cossack sank to the west of Gibraltar. The initial explosion had blown off one third of the forward section of the ship, killing 159 of the crew, but Oscar survived this too and was brought to the shore establishment in Gibraltar.

Retirement
The loss of Ark Royal proved the end of Sam's shipborne career and he was transferred first to the offices of the Governor in Gibraltar, and then sent back to the United Kingdom, where he saw out the remainder of the war living in a seaman's home in Belfast.
Sam died in 1955.

And this might be my song......
Big bad Mark.
Big Mark.

There came a day when the forums breathed their last.

Twenty posters scrambled one last time for the best and the last.

Nobody noticed when he breathed his last.
And few would notice that he had passed.

But somebody would cry from the lack of noise....
?Where is that man and his crying voice?

Tunnel and dig and they then found...
The cry of the kittyman, far underground.

He had passed away so long ago, but his sig still lives, ergo.

I am the kittyman, here and now...
Fond of me or not, I am still
The Kittyman.

What a voice at times, that man had he,
And thunder and lightning was his steed, big bad Mark.

One day come a thunder from far up above, and kitty says, ther'e alight up above.
And all the world wondered. About big bad Mark.

Truth be told, he saw the light.
And realized that nobody can smight....big bad Mark/

I came and I conquered and I know no fear.
Not any of you can tell that dear.
I came and I held my ground,
The mods all fear the sound...

I go and I shall continue to boast, that the things I love
really the most.
I just being me and piss on the rest.
You know it's best I get offa my chest......

As the song goes, one day they'll reopen this pit.
A marble stand will be in front of it.
And on that sine, I am sure it shall say.

WTF, have a fine day.

I know I give your reason to doubt me every day...
And I am not always be the way your might have me be today.
And I am not the man I was just yesterday.
When I remember Joan most fondly, it is just that.
Remembrance. I does not take anything away from my love for you, Lori.
You are my one and true, and nothing can take anything away from that.
This song should explain.

But, I love you....In my own peculiar way.

Willie sometimes says things that I cannot voice myself.
He kinda cuts to the quick, so to speak.

I fumble and mumble and murmer at times, but when the smoke clears, here he says it all.

99 percent of the world's lovers are not with the one they wish to be with.
That, my friends, is what makes the juke box play.
Willie quote.

For no one, and yet, for every one. She does a Beatles song...not that you would know it, she makes is so much her own.

I do love her silver hair. Having known it black and flaxen in her older days, I can say it is a mark of distinction and achieved beauty.

Something rather hard to achieve, I guess.

Willie and Emmylou seem to be something of an item lately...
Although she could be anybody's lover...mine certainly.
Interesting to note though.

This is a very old Emmylou cut.
Her beauty was present even here.

The one thing that has never wavered over the years is her amazing voice.

Many years later, just in 2008, she had not lost a note.

I wish I could weather the storms of life so well.

'92...Stuck in Lodi.

And as she sings in this more recent cut, one day my troubles shall be gone.
I shall rest with my kittens forever and all of my songs shall be with me.
So..
Please partake of what I share when and where I am able to, kids.
I am not sure I shall be able to gift you with everything I know before my time is up.
I am trying to do so, please understand.

Meow.

I sooooo much identify with Kathleen...

I have been also told...
Too much...too often...too bold...
And so I have had to put myself into park mode once in a while to stand back and assess whether it's MY world view that has become canted, or whether the rest of the world is on tilt.

The answer was and still is...it's the rest of the world that cannot handle me, not the other way around.
And kids....I am not done just yet.

I still, this late in my life, have some points to make and some valid things to say that might still shock you.

I alone shall determine when the time is right, and when the waters are calm enough to float those boats.

Be ready, kids. Be ready.

Meow.

Sunday evening.
9:35 PM.
Staring at the clock, daring it to move.
Holding a cat who does not understand tears.
And yet she holds some of them back.
Hoping sleep comes hard and fast.
Knowing that the Lord shall rise again this coming weekend, and I shall be new again with Him.
So much promise, and yet so much left undone for the kittyman.

And so much love for all of you who have endured it with me.
You really have been a special lot.
Unrelenting and yet forgiving.

So many of you have suffered so much at my hands.....
Not that I wished it so.
You are all so special.

Tigger says hi. She just literally licked a tear from my face and that made me smile.
Nose nuzzles....kitty kisses.
See.....
Cats make it all better now.

How can a man's mood change 180 in the time it takes to post?
Get a cat.

Meowallbetternow.

Somehow...
This song always settles me.
Brooks and Dunn...I Believe.
It always reminds me of why I was born.
There is more to life than just what we can see.
There is more to life than just you and me.

And whether or not some of you believe with the faith that I have, does not really matter, because I have that faith.

It does not require validation from the crowd.
It does not really ask for it.

A most simple statement.

You can accept or disregard it as you wish.

But.....

I believe.

Meow.
