Hello, first, i wish all seti members a Happy New Year 2005. Is it possible, that there is a problem with the validator, when they have to validate wu's that have been send out for three times, like this http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=6870589 ? It's crunched by 3 hosts, but it's pending. regards, Thomas |

The front page has updated news. I'm getting a few credits, so the validator is running, but apparently way behind. |

I got some credits, but there are a number of work units with 3 results completed but still pending. Something does seem up with the validator falling behind. Also my stats on the leader board haven't been updating (until yesterday my points earned was what it was 5 days earlier even while it continued to grow in my profile) and as such my ranking was falling a bit there. Then yesterday it caught up from the last 5 days, and would have to check now to see since then. |

My Recent Average Credit has been dropping for about 3 or 4 days. I'm now down 10-15% from just a few days ago. I had one machine go down for a day, but it shouldn't have made nearly that big of a dent! Individual machines are showing 10% less recent credits also. Any idea? Could the problems be related to the validators slowing down? |

Yeah, over the past 2 days or so the number of these work units have been growing, and no credits have added. AKA http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=6943263 http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=6838235 http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=6838236 http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=6838237 http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=6838234 This number could grow as there are some only waiting for the third unit and if things don't pick up with validation they might add to this list. I've also got a number with a no reply on the third unit, and yet for the 4th it still shows a server state of "unsent". Not sure when it will get around to re-distributing the work unit. http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=6216495 http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=6216494 http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=6216493 http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=6216492 |

My take is that its validating older WU's first, and yours are all fairly recent. What about older WU's that are complete but pending? I found 14 (of mine) that were pending yesterday and have credit today.. In most cases they were old (from Dec 21 or before) and the third result came in in the last few days. Like these: http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=6669917 http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=6272885 http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=6302467 I also have a bunch that were queued yesterday and processed, uploaded, reported and validated since then. Actually, it looks like they were validated very quickly. These are all older WU's that were resent after one of the original hosts either "lost" it or returned invalid data. Like this: http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=5876735 originally sent out Dec 12, I got it on the 29th and returned it late last night/early this morning. It also looks like they're catchng up, this one is the latest completed and validated, originally sent out Dec 24, finished and uploaded just a few hours ago: http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=6627522 |
