hi rob,
when did this work unit get delivered?

when the task takes 10+ hours just to download I would usually abort them.
i do not let them continue.

Note:
The ones that take 10+hours are the ones with (AP) or (CUDA) in the name.
those are the only ones i abort when they tried to download.

You have been receiving work recently - how long have those tasks taken to get through

those ones come through fast, usually within a few seconds,
they would already be processing before i even notice they were downloaded.
but they take like 4 to 5 hours before finished processing.
(seems slow for a dual core processor even if it is an AMD cpu)

i can see 1 hour, maybe 2 for those ones. but 4 or 5 hours seem a bit long.
Thats why I suspect BOINC or seti@home needs some changes in the settings.

when i suggested edits to boinc and seti@home, i was meaning for the preferences
like cpu settings, processor settings etc for a dual core.
not actual program code enhancements.

  • win7starter
  • boinc: 7.14.2
  • boinc tasks: 1.78
  • Lunatics Win32 v0.44

The question was "WHEN" not "how long did it take".
If, as I explained earlier the attempted delivery coincided with a server being shut down then that would explain everything.

Sorry Rob you must have misunderstood.

I assumed you seen the list of my tasks, and seen that they were aborted.
i only accepted the other tasks that seemed to download right away.

so I manually "aborted" all the AstroPulse v7 v7.03 (sse),
and SETI@home v7 v7.00 (cuda22) tasks that were being sent to me.

it had nothing to due with a possible server being shut down.
as i was receiving the tasks, I just didnt believe how long they were taking,
so i suspended then aborted the tasks whenever they tried to start downloading.
