It looks very much like the crow's-foot adapters we used to turn very large nuts and bolts with a normal-sized socket-handle or torque wrench.

No, No

Hole is about 25mm square...

About 1 inch wide, them.

Again, a valve operating tool/handle.
Or an adapter for a 1"-drive socket wrench or torque wrench.

He agreed it was some sort of valve.
25 mm, just shy of an inch.

Does the valve control a liquid?

Miniature gold bar casting mould?

When I first saw it, it struck me how much better it would be for putting out a tea towel fire than my holy spoon was - but that's when I thought it was closer to the size of Thors hammer.

edit: but all this talk of valves suggests I don't know what it is and never will :)

oh...and did we say we like humans too? Well we do :)

Annie I know you may not remember it, but
in the old days you found valves in radios.
This tool is not for that.

Some sort of a liquid, then is it a pressure valve that allows a chage in state from liquid to gas?

it's the manual fuel switch for a rocket on a russian spaceship to save the cost for electricity and 2 cables

there is 2 of them which have to be simultaneously opened at the same time and you have a guy standing at the ground with a bic to save money on the electric starter

I got it all right right?

they call it the soyus lite hrhr

The fluid controlled by the use of this tool is quite common in nature...
