Did a search, founds lots of posts with the same issue, but nothing that really helped me any. SETI used to work just fine, but I tried to upgrade from 7.2.42 to 7.4.27 and now communication is always deferred. World Community Grid, on the other hand, works just fine. Tried uninstalling, rebooting, deleting Program Files & ProgramData folders, reinstalling old/new versions, etc. Always get the same issue now. Any ideas? I couldn't easily find a log file of communications that may speak to the problem. I'm sure it's there, but just couldn't easily find it. Was hoping to get my new GTX 970 going but might have to take it elsewhere :-( |

Just now there is no work to be distributed, so you will be getting the "communications deferred" message from BOINC as it waits for the next access time slot (minimum is about 5 minutes, but in situations like this it can be hours. Additionally there is (at least one) issue with BOINC version 7.4.27 which causes this problem to occur when there is a stuck up/download for a project - the solution is to either roll back to your previous version of BOINC, or move on to the current highest Beta version (7.4.36 I think) Edit: There is a thread in "Number Crunching" which is discussing this issue: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=76433 Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |
