From April 1920 to May 1951 it has been estimated that internal forced migrations affected some 6 million people. Of these, some 1 to 1.5 million perished as a result.
To replace them with russians was probably not the goal.
They wanted cheap labor. And the Holodomor happened because they wanted cheap food.
But of course it paved the way for russians who are now living in nations that wasn't part of Russia.
Now Putin are determinated to "save" all these immigrants from the Evil West.

Soviet History was not my area of expertise. Just General History Knowledge.

Sweden, Finland and Estonia have lots of common history with both Russia and Ukraine. More than a thousand years of incidents are recorded in our history books. Soviet history is just a small part of it.

From the top: Army. Division. Brigade. Battalion.
That Russian Battalions like Vostok are in Ukraine cannot be denied.
Mostly Cossacks and veterans from Grozny.
But there are also battalions with many conscripts from Russia.
Conscripts rarely volentary fight on foreign soil.
Russia has general conscription for men. The basic course lasts 12 months for students and 24 months for the other. Desertings are very common because of the beatings, extortion and malnutrition.
