Yesterday I was shopping food. Outside there was a muslim romani woman from Romania begging for money. Yes a begger from an EU country. Anyway. She told me she was also hungry. I went in to the shop and when I was about to pay I was short of money. The missing amount was 10 cents!!! A big argument started and I left the shop with my food. But I forgot to give the romani women the bread... |

PC. Have you noticed that no matter the word used to refer to a group, eventually it becomes insulting ... |

PC. Have you noticed that no matter the word used to refer to a group, eventually it becomes insulting ... Here it's not PC to call a romani people a gypsy. I know some romani people and they don't object to be called a gypsy! PC on steroids! btw The immigrants are calling us "Svennar":) |

So while your relatives may have been politicians, whether they were bigoted or politically correct are two separate things. I don't see anything wrong with raising awareness (flag waiving). |

PC. Have you noticed that no matter the word used to refer to a group, eventually it becomes insulting ... Usually because it starts being used in the pejorative sense to denigrate someone. Take my two previous examples of retard or gay - both had perfectly innocent meanings and usage until, like I said, people used it to insult others. Once the word is used in a pejorative or negative manner, no one wants to be associate with the word anymore. |

PC. Have you noticed that no matter the word used to refer to a group, eventually it becomes insulting ... So, "PC" has become an insult? Much like "ideo...gue"? Those using the term(s) are "deliberately hostile or insulting ... intended to annoy or antagonize other people", right? |

PC. Have you noticed that no matter the word used to refer to a group, eventually it becomes insulting ... Only when referencing a specific individual or group. <ed>Of course for the mods the specific individual or group referenced would generally have to be a reader at Seti to trigger action. So as we have lots of posts talking about "ideo...gue" here, there must not be any of them who frequent the boards! ;) |

PC. Have you noticed that no matter the word used to refer to a group, eventually it becomes insulting ... Because we all love each other and would never push one another's buttons. :) |

So, "PC" has become an insult? Much like "ideo...gue"? Those using the term(s) are "deliberately hostile or insulting ... intended to annoy or antagonize other people", right? I think its less of an insult and more like a way to shut down a discussion. You know, kinda like how *some* people here hold it against others if they are 'intellectuals' or 'academics'. No one will feel insulted if they are called smart, but in the context of a discussion it can be used to dismiss someones argument without actually going into the argument. Its a really cheap and lazy rhetorical trick. |

Does your Post mean you are FOR it? A flag is a thing. Things exist. How can you be for or against a thing? Now an idea ... but not a thing. |

OK, now we cannot say f..g according to The Silencer. That would be my take on his twisted version of definitions of English words. Flag: a small piece of cloth, typically attached at one edge to a pole, used as a marker or signal in various sports This to him is something you have to be either for or against. Amazing to see how some human minds operate. Of course he incessantly makes references to nazi's in his posts and well as L...s and R...s and I...s. It is almost as if he is on a mission to create and use as many pejoratives from as many words as he can. Or perhaps he sees the entire world as a pejorative? BTW is "The Silencer" anything like a "Censor Pig"? or a "Thought Police"? |

Flag Burning involves intentionally setting fire to a flag, often a national flag, sometimes to show dissatisfaction with the country's policies, or to show contempt for a country. During the Vietnam War, Swedish anti-war activists openly burned US flag to show there contempt for the warring country. That the national flag is burned in this way is perceived by many as deeply offensive. More than 200 Malaysian Muslim protesters called on Sweden to take action the newspapers that printed Vilks publication. The demonstrators also burned the Swedish flag outside the Swedish embassy in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur. The demonstration outside the Swedish embassy In Kuala Lumpur, banners and posters with messages as "Learn of September 11," and "Our prophet teaches us.", While they chanted "Long live Islam" and "Down with Sweden," reports the Associated Press. In addition to the burning of the Swedish flag was burned an image of the artist Lars Vilks, who designed the artwork where the Prophet Muhammad imagine a roundabout dog. - We demand that the Swedish government take strong action against the newspapers and against the artist. It is unacceptable what they did to our prophet, saying Sabki Yusof, a leader of the protests, and a member of the Pan Malaysian Islamic Party. btw Is it OK in the US to say Pale Faces to White people? |
