Hope the vaccines works. Ebola: New vaccine trial begins Scientists at Oxford University have begun immunising healthy volunteers with a new Ebola vaccine. In September last year a separate trial of another Ebola vaccine got under way in the city. This latest trial involves 72 volunteers aged 18-50. Initial tests in monkeys showed the vaccine, developed by Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson and Johnson, gave complete protection against Ebola. The volunteers in Oxford are the first humans to receive the vaccine. http://www.bbc.com/news/health-30696018 |

Hope the vaccines works. That could raise some moral questions about infecting a deadly disease in a human. One would hope that they are going to Africa and do volunteer works with infected peoples. And just because it works in monkeys sure dosent mean it works in humans. [/quote] Old James |

I feel for the bridal shop. :( Bridal shop closes after being stigmatized by Ebola AKRON, Ohio — Operators of a northeast Ohio bridal shop linked to an Ebola survivor say the store is closing because it lost significant business and has been stigmatized. Dallas nurse Amber Vinson was diagnosed with Ebola days after visiting Coming Attractions Bridal & Formal store in Akron in October. The store temporarily closed and cleaned before reopening in November, but business hasn’t bounced back. http://nypost.com/2015/01/08/bridal-shop-closes-after-being-stigmatized-by-ebola/ |

Vaccines move to Ebola frontline Two promising Ebola vaccines will soon be tried on the frontline of the epidemic in West Africa, the World Health Organization has announced. Trials in limited numbers of volunteers suggest the vaccines are safe and can generate an immune response. Further trials on thousands of people will take place in Africa, including in healthcare workers. It is still unclear how much protection against Ebola, or for how long, the vaccines might provide. The two leading candidates - being produced by GlaxoSmithKline and Merck - are going through safety trials in the US, UK and other countries. http://www.bbc.com/news/health-30742769 |

Six days no new cases, in United Sates. Yet? I did not post for a few months because ... ... not that I had contracted Ebola, but ... ... these threads made me scared to go outside much or use the interwebs because I did not want to catch an online version of the bug ... ... or not. Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes. |
