Another reason why the West should pull out: -
Arab Twitters rap air strikes
"Qatari user Haya al-Merri tweets in Arabic: "Despite my hatred for IS and those who created it, I am not happy to see foreign fighter jets striking Syria; something in my heart hurts me.""
So get off your ass & do something about it. Then your heart won't hurt
It used to wield a big stick, but now it's only carrots

Exactly which 'Arabs' are against airstrikes, and the destruction of The Jihadist's, and Sharia Law.
Those Arab Women/Girls being raped to increase the IS Population?
The Arab parents of Children being beheaded?
The Arab innocent Men, Women, Children being buried alive?
Which 'Arabs'?

Haya al-Merri Here she is:)

Haya al-Merri Here she is:)
https://translate.google.se/translate?hl=sv&sl=ar&tl=en&u=https%3A%2F%2Ftwitter.com%2Fhayamerri

She was Raped by these Jihadist's? Her Children were beheaded by these Jihadist's? Her Family was buried alive by these Jihadist's?

If they were, or SHE was surrounded by these Jihadist's? What would her WISH be then?

She, and other like her, do not speak for the Jihadist's Victims. Anyone who excuses the Jihadist's, and brings Israel into their discussion (Linked Post): Are SCUM!

Note: I have personally talked with Personnel involved in Rescuing 5,000 Yazidis trapped on Sinjar being besieged by IS. (I assist, as a Volunteer, our Military Personnel upon their return, and speak to Active Duty Family Members, on a daily basis)

By the reaction of the Yazidis, after their rescue: ONLY the Jihadist's Victims should speak for 'The Arabs'.

Arab?
Arab is a city in Marshall and Cullman counties in the northern part of the U.S. state of Alabama, located 10 miles (16 km) from Guntersville Lake and Guntersville Dam, and is included in the Huntsville-Decatur Combined Statistical Area. As of the 2010 census, the population of the city was 8,050.
End of Fun:)

Arabs in the modern sense comprise the majority population in the so-called Arab world, which in principle can be said to consist of the Arab League's 22 member states and the Western Sahara. One of the Member States of the Arab League is also the Palestinian Authority, which is not recognized by the international community.

The word Arabs in the true ethnographic sense includes only the inhabitants of the Arabian Peninsula. These real Arabs descended according to Jewish and Jews from Islamic legends borrowed partly from Joktan (Arabic Qahtan), grandfather's grandfather's uncle Abraham, and from Abraham's son Ishmael (see Genesis, chapter 10, 11, 16, 17, 21). These legends matched by an old Arab tradition, according to which the Arabs divide in the Arab, "pure Arabs" and mustariba, "Arabized" peoples. The former group, the legend joktaniter, had their homeland in southern Arabia, while the other, the legend Ishmaelites, originated in northern and central Arabia.

janneseti...

Do understand. That's why I said wrote 'The Arabs'.

Just a Generic, but inappropriate term. Probably should Always use the term Jihadist's, when describing these 'people'.

Do you believe the nature of my Post was wrong?

Of course not. I Think:) We are all ignorant about the Arabic World.
There is so much of Arabic Culture, Religion, History, Politics and the fact they also problem with racism within the region that we simple cannot grasp it.
Or do you? I don't despite having friends from Kurdistan and meet many others from the region everyday.

Generalization of groups of people is bad. Its called Xenophobia.
So no troops.

Another thing Iran. They are not arabs and dont speak arabic. They speak Farsi.
The Persian are an Iranian people who speak the modern Persian language and closely akin Iranian dialects and languages. Their origins are traced to the ancient Iranian peoples, themselves part of the Indo-Iranian branch of the greater Indo-European peoples.

Fake maybe but these crank calls happens. Even at sea.
Collide with a Lighthouse :)
25 nautical miles. It takes more than an hour to get there probably more since submarines cannot sail at 25 knots:)

My guess is that it is a drunk lighthouse keeper new to radar and VHF radio and fooling around.

Never the less. A fun story.

I think a fast attack sub can keep up with a carrier task force. Of course their speed is very classified, but AFAIK every carrier has at least one in escort.

The old Albacore--Diesel driven, with the first Skipjack hull, could achieve 55 MPH while submerged (and of course snorkeling). I suspect that you can figure on about 60 MPH while submerged for a nuclear fast-attack boat.. (that's 100 Kilometers per hour in the communist Metric System).

You will find slower numbers on the internet but I seem to recall that a Destroyer and an AirCraft Carrier could do 45 MPH and I am sure that the subs would want to keep up with the flotilla.

I saw her (the Albacore) docked in Key West back in the 50's ; she was smaller than the older subs and was purely a test vessel.

In the 60's I drove the simulator in the New London Submarine School at the Navy Base there. My father was EXEC of the base. I do not recall the top speed on the instruments, I do recall the maximum depth --but it was probably far less than the maximun crush-safe depth. I had a top secret clearance then as I was a commissioned Army officer.

Those numbers are consistant with what I have heard.

Ahoy Landsman:)
In this case 4 subs and yes, maximum speed is classified and case of a threats they sail at full speed.
But I doubt that the flotilla are sailing at full speed. Lots of supply ships too.
20 knots sounds more likely outside Spain.

Miles per hour and kilometers per hour are not used at sea.
Not in Aviation either. It's knots!
One nautical mile is 1852 meters.
One British mile is 1609 meters.
So do your math:)

I'm an old sailor with a father who where an officer in Royal Swedish Navy.
I spent my first(!) christmas on a destroyer J18 Halland:)
Been in a sub as kid. One day on a minesweeper giving order to the helmsman
Visited a British aircraft carrier and used the elevators for the aeroplanes.

And this of course HMS Gladan. Every kadett start there training on this ship.

...and...They're off...

...approaching the 1st furlong marker, they're still bunched together, but...

Del-boy edges in front of the pack

...closely followed by Harman's Shadow

...any closer & Harman's Shadow will end up with a face full of Del-boy's flatulence as they jockey for the lead in the Political Shenanigans Handicap, one of the qualifying races for the G.E Gold Cup in 2015...

...What's this? Jihadi John galloping through impeding both Del-boy & Harman's Shadow...

...surely, a Stewards Inquiry is needed.

PM: I'll hunt Jihadi John... even to Syria. Cameron prepared to send in SAS - and won't seek approval of MPs
Can he do that?

David Cameron would send in troops to 'secure a vital British interest'
Or is it British Petroleum interest?

All those acronyms. Different in all countries.
Come to think of Islamic State thats's called IS. What is ISIS?

A female fighter pilot in the United Arab Emirates Air Force has been derided in the United States since she participated in a bombing attack against the Islamic extremist movement state (IS) - which brought reactions.
The United Arab Emirates has used a female fighter pilot in the US-led bombing of the Islamic state's strongholds in Syria aroused great attention earlier this week.

In the television program "The Five" in the American cable television channel Fox, who is known for in its news coverage to have a conservative profile, program leaders pulled sexist jokes about the major in question, Maryam al-Mansouri, 35.

Young Swedish girls joins the IS

In a few months, at least eight young women from the suburbs Järvafältet in Stockholm traveled to Syria, is likely to join the Islamic State (IS). Concern is now growing within the Swedish Somali Diaspora, who are appealing for community help. SAPO opt out contacts with women because they are not considered to pose a threat to Sweden.

The Islamic State (IS) previously called itself the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) or the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS). It is an unrecognized state and a Sunni insurgent group active in Iraq and Syria in the Middle East. In its self-proclaimed status as a caliphate, it claims religious authority over all Muslims across the world.

What a mess its there...
