Is the client then visible? Running boinc as a Windows service was discussed under the (mis-spelled) thread BIONIC as service You'll even find a reference to detailed step-by-step instructions in that thread. In Boinc 4.56 and up Boinc has been revised I repeat there is no Boinc_cli and no Boinc_gui. The new Boinc Mananger can be close if running as a service. The boinc.exe keeps on running. If Boinc is not installed as a service if the Boincmanager [boincmtg.exe] is stops all Boinc operation. Note if Boinc is not uninstalled before version 4.57 is installed you will not get the option to install as a service. When installing the New Boinc 4.57 it should give you the option to uninstall the old version. Due to the Boinc project is still being revised as refference to the previous running as a service is changing. As I remember Boinc_gui and Boinc_cli is in the previous version of Boinc, I don't remember what version boinc gui and cli chsnge to Boinc Manager. This applys to the windows version. > The message "Daily quota exceeded" says it all, doesn't it? Your computer > tried to download more than the maximum allowed 50 WUs within 24 hours. > Berkeley updated this to 100 units per day per computer near the end of December. Not long after they made the 10 day max cache a hard number. No one can have a cache of more than days worth of units now, no matter what they try to do. Should cut down on some of the problem machines. |
