Did not notice. Good catch. Now I'm a bit Sad we missed the 15th anniversary date of our team on March 1st. SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours |

If I had to guess, I'd say that all teams created before a certain date were assigned 1 Mar 1999 because the date wasn't tracked before some date (maybe a couple of years ago)? Looking through the list of University teams, in the first 40, there are only 2 that don't have that date, one in Dec 2012 and one in 2013. I guess it's possible they were all created on the same day, but it doesn't seem likely to me... -Dave ![]() |

That our SETI@home team was not created 3 months before the motherboard was even released? I don't know. Seems fishy to me... I see some teams from 2004 & 2005. So I am going to guess that the team creation date started with the change over to BOINC. SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours |

I wouldn't put too much store the team start date, according to my data, I joined Seti after my team was created, odd since I created the team AFTER I joined Seti ;-) c'est la vie P. |

The increment is automated but it certainly should be able to change exceptionally... maybe... |

To be honest Thomas, it's not worth worrying about, crunching is the name of the game, not fame ;-) P. |

So there is no data to use to amend the date. http://seticlassic.ssl.berkeley.edu/team_list.html SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours |

Hi all, this is interesting stuff. That they did not track membership start during Classic is obvious as my team start date is before my current start date of Apr 00. Yes I am 1 of the many with the Mar. 1 1999 start date. Created 1 Mar 1999 Total credit 7,326,048 Recent average credit 31,357 Badges [Top 25% in average credit] I had thought I lost my start date by upgrading to new platforms for crunching. Regards Robert Edit for a thank you. Thank you for the befriending in my account Thomas, I did add you. |
