I believe that this is due to the problem related to the DNS data for KWSN.NET domain. The DNS records itself may be OK, but their WHOIS data still keeps obsolete name servers. Until the data is updated, the only resort is either the entry in hosts file or use of public name servers somehow keeping correct data. |

Can't get to it regardless. The IP listed gets me to their "oops" page but the links off of that tilt. "Life is just nature's way of keeping meat fresh." - The Doctor |

You cannot just substitute the 63.247.72.178 IP address for lunatics.kwsn.net in a URL because there are several different names associated with that address. IOW, the request header must name lunatics.kwsn.net as the server plus be sent to the correct IP address. It's not a case where ni.kwsn.net and stats.kwsn.net and lunatics.kwsn.net are just aliases for the same subdomain. AFAIK, if your ISP's DNS servers can't find the IP address for lunatics.kwsn.net you must supply an alternative way to supply that translation, either via a hosts file entry or using a DNS server which does know the IP. It looks like whomever we use for our DNS at work has also dropped the kwsn.net domain today. However, the kwsnforum.com domain is still in place and working. I added kwsn.net to my local lab DNS for the time being. SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

I don't know if anything has changed recently, but decided to check the site again today (without the hosts hack) and it seems to be working again. I'll have to remember to check if that's also the case at work. Soli Deo Gloria |

Lunatics isn`t reachable since yesterday morning. The site is fine, and still on the same IP address. It's just that the DNS 'A' record has vanished again. |
