Local workers on a Reunion Island beach in the Indian Ocean found more debris-- including a bottle of laundry detergent from Jakarta, Indonesia Friday-- which could be further evidence of wreckage believed to be from missing Malyasia Airlines Flight MH370. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2015/07/31/more-debris-on-reunion-island-beach-may-unlock-mh370-crash-mystery/ I know it's MH370, but official word will come Wednesday. After 500 days of mystery, MH370 answers could come soon Saint-Denis, Reunion Island (CNN)Debris believed to from a Boeing 777 -- and possibly missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 -- is headed to France, where investigators hope sophisticated technology will help unravel a mystery nearly a year and a half in the making. The debris -- which investigators seem increasingly confident came from a Boeing 777 -- was discovered this week on the remote Indian Ocean island of Reunion. http://www.cnn.com/2015/07/31/world/mh370-debris-investigation/ |

Not MH370 debris. Official: Debris found on island not part of Flight 370 An object found on an Indian Ocean island is not part of a plane door but a generic ladder that has nothing to do with missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, a Malaysian official said Sunday. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2015/08/02/wing-flap-arrives-testing-facility/31014241/ |

More Debris? New evidence in MH370 search as Reunion island officials ignore Malaysia’s pleas for help THE Reunion resident who found the “plane door†— which turned out to be a ladder — last Sunday has now discovered a plastic component appearing to resemble a plane part on a beach on the island’s capital St Denis. New clue ... A police officer holds a piece of plastic that could be a plane window, found on the sea front of Saint-Denis, on the French Indian Ocean island of La Reunion. update: MH370 sank almost in one piece, expert claims KUALA LUMPUR: The missing MH370 aircraft is believed to be “largely intact†and lying somewhere beneath the southern Indian Ocean, according to local satellite communications expert Zaaim Redha Abdul Rahman. His theory is that it sank into the deep sea in one piece “after probably floating for a while†on that fateful day the plane went down. “I believe that when the aircraft went out of fuel, it glided downwards and landed on the water with a soft impact…that’s why I believe the plane is still largely intact,†said Zaaim Redha who had, immediately after MH370 went missing, helped to read and deduce its flight data relayed via the satellite operated by United Kingdom-based global satellite communications firm Inmarsat. http://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/nation/2015/08/12/mh370-sank-almost-in-one-piece-expert-claims/ |

Time for an update. Flight MH370 Update: Is Flaperon Debris From Missing Air Malaysia Airliner? Experts Still Unable To '100%' Confirm There is no guarantee that the piece of debris found on Réunion Island actually originated from the missing Malaysia Airlines MH370 aircraft, French experts said, according to a report published earlier this week in the French newspaper la Dépêche du Midi. Investigators have been studying the debris, which comprises a piece of plane wing known as a flaperon; it was the first supposed trace of the plane since it mysteriously disappeared on March 8, 2014. The flaperon was sent to France for examination, since Réunion Island falls under French jurisdiction. But after nearly a month of tests, experts there have been unable to definitively link the barnacle-covered flaperon to the Malaysia airliner. They have not, however, ruled out the possibility that it may, in fact, have originated from the plane. http://www.ibtimes.com/flight-mh370-update-flaperon-debris-missing-air-malaysia-airliner-experts-still-2067017 |

Experts Still Unable To '100%' Confirm France unsure plane part came from MH370, source says (CNN)Experts in France have not been able to determine with certainty whether a piece of airplane wing found July 29 on an Indian Ocean island belongs to MH370, the Malaysian airliner carrying 239 people that disappeared 2014, a French source close to the investigation told CNN on Saturday. Judicial investigators know the part comes from a Boeing 777, but they say they still need to identify a number inside the wing part, called a flaperon, the source said. http://www.cnn.com/2015/08/29/europe/mh370-part/index.html |

I hope this is not the delay. 239 souls and their families need an answer. French prosecutors still unable to confirm MH370 wreckage 'because staff are on holiday' It is now almost four weeks since the Malaysian prime minister gave a TV press conference “confirming†that plane wreckage found on the island of Reunion was from the missing passenger jet MH370. But amid growing confusion and anger from the families of those lost, investigators in France have reportedly been unable to provide their own confirmation because staff at a Spanish subcontractor are “on vacationâ€. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/asia/french-prosecutors-still-unable-to-confirm-mh370-wreckage-because-staff-are-on-holiday-10478809.html |

You can safely say that the flaperon came from MH370 Lynn, as if any other 777 lost 1 it would've made the news. Cheers. |

You can safely say that the flaperon came from MH370 Lynn, as if any other 777 lost 1 it would've made the news. Well, you see France wants to charge a dead pilot for murder. They have to find a serial number to prove their case. As otherwise there could be doubt that some flaperon got lost in some weird shipping accident or fell off some other aircraft that didn't crash. To prove otherwise they would have to drag every flaperon made into court to show that it had to be the one on MH370. Everyone involved understands this is BS, but they have to put up with it. |

How does France have jurisdiction? Just because a single piece of the plane washed up on an island they claim. The only real determination that needs to be made is whether the crash was the responsibility of the airline owners or the aircraft manufacturer. I can't for the life of me figure out why this thread isn't in the Cafe Seti forum. I'm an ex-mod and powerless. |

What any poster does or does not think is totally their own opinion, mod or ex-mod. A moderator is just an ordinary poster who is willing to help try and keep the forums orderly. Nothing more, the "power" that you seem to believe exists, is possibly with the forum admin. My posts to any thread offering "advice" on the thread is just that advice. I hope I don't issue "orders". The reason this thread is here is because there are still unanswered questions as to exactly what happened, it was thought at the beginning it may have been a terrorist act, and my still be If any OP feels that perhaps their thread needs moving then they can contact the mods. |

There is an awful lot of politics surrounding the search and investigation... Especially so for the hours delayed action from when air traffic control radio contact was lost, through to the military not intercepting an unknown radar blip and then greatly delaying help with the initial search... There is also the still big questions of whether everything unfolded from some air emergency or from deliberate premeditated suicide or some form of vengeance. The flight path followed was so abrupt and unusual that the aircrew must have realised the flight was far from normal. Also, there are far easier ways to commit suicide... However, the unexpected does happen... There are past air losses that suggest various possible scenarios. Here's hoping this one can be elucidated without too much meddlesome and cruel interference from the politics and lawyers to add to the anguish. As of January 2015, the Boeing 777 has been in 13 aviation accidents and incidents,[218] including five hull-loss accidents,[219] and three hijackings, for a total of 540 fatalities. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_777#Incidents_and_accidents As for scrapping. Why throw away so much aliminium and other stuff? A lot of MH17 was scrapped and melted down before investigators could come to the crashsite in Donbass. It cannot be so hard to say that the flaperon comes from MH370. |
