Incorrect, incidents like this only cost the taxpayer, not the airlines... You are right. It's always the taxpayers who pays when something goes wrong:( When something turns out good... Taxpayers get nothing. |

MH370: No confirmation plane debris found in Indonesia, says Transport Ministry I dont think tracking planes over oceans is used yet... It is Canada who have built the system though. |

According to a program I just watched last week about MH370 the system is operational globally and used by the USA and Canada. There is considerable pressure to make it mandatory for all over water carriers to implement the system. I depends on the gps and communications satellites to relay tracking data back to the FAA and the airline home office. MH370: Authorities 'Covering Up Vital Information' About Missing Jet, Says Aviation Expert An aviation expert has alleged that Malaysian and Australian authorities, who are handling the search for missing Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370, could be involved in a cover-up, local media reports said Sunday. Desmond Ross, who is also a pilot, also claimed that a breach of protocol by authorities made the ongoing search costly, The Malaysian Insider reported. http://www.ibtimes.com/mh370-authorities-covering-vital-information-about-missing-jet-says-aviation-expert-1713676 CIA, knows where the plane is. |

MH370: Authorities 'Covering Up Vital Information' About Missing Jet, Says Aviation Expert If proven true, the International outcry against the USA will be immense. However, I don't think even the CIA is that stupid. |

I'm not sure why the families of the passengers would be upset at an official declaration that the airliner and it's passengers are lost. It's time to face reality and get on with their lives. It also makes it possible to pay out insurance claims and damages from the airline. The only scenario that gives any hope that the passengers are still alive is a hijacking where the plane has been landed somewhere and they are being held hostage. But who would hold over 200 people hostage this long without announcing demands for their release? Bob DeWoody My motto: Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow as it may not be required.
