An Air Lauda aircraft, I believe a 767, broke instantly into pieces when somebody made a cell phone call which inverted the thrust of one of its engines. It is true that in the ocean there are no cell phone antennas but maybe somebody on the plane was trying to contact his relatives. Tullio |

Communications from the plane ceased at 1.07 PM local time. Radar contact was lost at 1.30 PM local time. According to CNN a representative from Rolls Royce declined to comment saying there is an investigation going on. If the engines sent a warning message to Air Malaysia to be transferred to Rolls Royce is not ours to know. Maybe somebody knows the truth and is not telling it. It would cost too much money. I find impossible for a modern aircraft such as the Boeing 777 to disappear from the sky without emitting any signal of distress. The Air France A330 sent many automatic signals while plunging to the sea. One recalls the simple Morse code emitted by a postal airplane over the same South Atlantic in Saint Exupery's novel "Vol de nuit", "the purest form of despair". Tullio |

Latest reports suggest that pings from MH370's service data system (ACARS) were being received 4hrs after the transponder was turned off. USS Kidd is now heading west towards the Indian Ocean. Cheers. |

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (CNN) -- U.S. intelligence officials are leaning toward the theory that "those in the cockpit" -- the pilots of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 -- were responsible for the mysterious disappearance of the commercial jetliner, a U.S. official with direct knowledge of the latest thinking told CNN on Saturday. U.S. officials lean toward 'those in the cockpit' behind missing flight |

Doomed airliner pilot was political fanatic: Hours before taking control of flight MH370 he attended trial of jailed opposition leader Police investigate data from home flight simulator of captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah, 53 Investigators speak of his 'obsessive' support for opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim Police officers fear Ibrahim being jailed could have left Shah profoundly upset Flight MH370 disappeared more than a week ago with 239 people on board Despite a huge multinational search effort, no signs of the plane or a crash have been found Malaysian Prime Minister said yesterday that the plane was deliberately steered off course FBI experts say disappearance could be ‘act of piracy’, suggesting passengers are being held http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2581817/Doomed-airliner-pilot-political-fanatic-Hours-taking-control-flight-MH370-attended-trial-jailed-opposition-leader-sodomite.html#ixzz2w6ZtIQ2W NASA is also helping to find the plane. Someone deliberately diverted Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 and shut down communications with the ground, and the jetliner continued flying for six hours, Malaysia's prime minister said Saturday. The announcement shifted the focus of the investigation to the crew and passengers on the plane, which has now been missing for more than a week. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2014/03/15/malaysia-airlines-search-heads-toward-indian-ocean/ |

Terrorist related or a genuine accident? I think that we can clearly and safely call this a highjacking now. Cheers. |

It's either gone into the drink or set down and hidden by a nation state. Before anyone comes in and rubbish's this, I'll remind them of Entebbe July 1976. |

Recently an Ethiopian pilot locked out of the cabin an Italian copilot who had gone to the toilet and diverted the aircraft to Switzerland, where he was arrested. But the Malaysia airliner did not land in any known airport and maybe crashed into the sea after finishing its fuel supply. Tullio |

I can't find the news report ATM, but yes there is a growing list of places with suitable landing strips (or strips that could be quickly extended) to accept a 777 and where 1 can either be hidden, or refueled to carry on to another destination, that are well within range of that flight's original fuel load (a lot are in unfriendly areas). So Sirius your statement could very well be right. Cheers. |

But why would a pilot land a plane on some kind of island and then let no one know about his reasons of hijacking a plane full of people. Usually they want to make a statement. As for the guy who hijacked the plane and flew to Switzerland, he did it because he wanted to be granted asylum in Switzerland or something. He had no intention of hurting his passengers. |

Ok then try this for an example. The people on the plane are expendable and of no use because they are not required for the plan of the terrorists, but the plane is. From several news reports connected with this flight, A plot created by Malaysian Islamists to hijack the Malaysia Airlines plane in a 9/11-style attack is being investigated, it comes after al-Qaeda informant Saajid Badat, a British-born Muslim from Gloucester, told a court that a group of Malaysian men had been planning to take control of a plane, using a bomb hidden in a shoe to blow open the cockpit door. Now you should know about suicide bombers surely. Now can you imagine the damage that could be caused by a plane of that size being packed with explosives and deliberately flown into the center of a large city? This is just speculation of course, but very possible as a lot of those air strips (previously mentioned) are on islands or in countries that are very sympathetic to terrorist groups. Are you starting to feel a little enlightened now? |

The Mail as usual thinks it has the answer. "Police investigate data from home flight simulator of captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah, 53 Investigators speak of his 'obsessive' support for opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim Police officers fear Ibrahim being jailed could have left Shah profoundly upset Flight MH370 disappeared more than a week ago with 239 people on board Despite a huge multinational search effort, no signs of the plane or a crash have been found Malaysian Prime Minister said yesterday that the plane was deliberately steered off course FBI experts say disappearance could be ‘act of piracy’, suggesting passengers are being held" All major points which have been raised by the relevant authorities, so further proof that rather than post relevant comments, you show your intense hatred of the media, especially the Daily Mail. It's time you stopped flogging the horse as its died! |
