Badges on SETI@home and Beta
I just saw it on the home page of my team
And there is also on the profile page of each
So good ! :)
As I understand it : gold badge - my team is part of the 1% of the best teams
Does anyone has information on this system of badges ?

It seems that this is the RAC determines obtaining badges... To be continued...

I had the :) reaction, tbret
It's a good thing (a bit like WCG...)
Attention, the individual badges don't appear in "your account" but only when you click on your public profile

Example for James

I don't think James because all the volunteers can have a badge
I think they are awarded based on RAC
In my team, some members already have a gold badge (1%) when they have not even reached the million credits earned for S@H - but they display a RAC than 10,000 credits/day
And I have a bronze badge (25%)

yep, must be a heads up from the boys at the lab for us crunchers...

Guess the people hanging around the number crunching forum must almost all have the gold 1% badge.

I wonder what the break points are for the
various badges?

Me too Bill

FYI - in my team, at this time, I have seen it

RAC = 600 credits/day >> bronze badge
RAC = 3.800 credits/day >> silver badge
RAC = 12.000 credits/day >> gold badge

Obviously, if it's calculated on a total RAC project, breakpoints may flucturer

But it's true that it would be nice to know more

The number within the badge appears to indicate your percentile band within the team, 1% meaning you are in the top 1% of the contributors to the team, and 25% you are within the top 25%.
All this is deduction, and as Thomas says it would be nice to know for sure.

Not just for the team Rob, I think...
For the project, no ?
Bill is not in a team but still has a gold badge

David, not Eric:

Changeset b33bf69a in boinc-v2

•the default badges (defined in ops/badge_assign.php) are now based on RAC percentile (top 1%, 5%, and 25%) rather than plain RAC.
•RAC percentile badges are now granted for teams as well as users; show badges in team page.
•move badge utility functions to inc/util_ops.inc

Users 1422 - 7250 : Silver Badge (RAC 11,809 to 3,755)
