I have installed this on a windows 8 computer and it tells me I need to restart, I do and when it reboots, it says that it needs to reboot(infinite loop). I have uninstalled and reinstalled and this did not solve the issue. Any ideas on how to resolve this? |

I have installed this on a windows 8 computer and it tells me I need to restart, I do and when it reboots, it says that it needs to reboot(infinite loop). Please note the words I have highlighted. I can't tell from your post what these terms refer to. Please be more specific. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and this did not solve the issue. Any ideas on how to resolve this? Again, what did you uninstall and reinstall? As a general rule, any programs/files involved with any project on BOINC would NOT require you to reboot your computer. <EDIT> Looks like you resolved the issue and have plenty of work in progress. ![]() ![]() |

Depending on how BOINC is installed, a file is creating in the BOINC program directory called "RebootPending.txt" that doesn't get deleted properly. Removing this file will stop BOINC from constantly asking for a reboot. |

The program I was referring to was BOINC. I have installed it on another computer, but I still would like to get it on my Windows 8 computer. I will find that file and delete it and see if that resolves my issue. |
