You could do it manually. Just sort by application (setiathome_v7 vs. astropulse_v6), select and suspend setiathome_v7 and then you will crunch through AP instead. There's no way to do it automatically from within BOINC. You can, however, go to your project preferences and select AP, but "allow work from other applications" needs to be selected, too. That will focus on giving you AP, but if AP isn't available when you ask for work, you'll get MB instead. The down-side on that is that it will not work exactly as you might hope. It only applies to what the feeder has available to offer you at that very moment and not a matter of "are there tapes being split for AP?" So you may get a couple APs on this work request, and the next one, the feeder has nothing to offer you except 50 MBs, and the next request may give you both at the same time. There's no need to do it at all, unless you care for credits. A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read. (Mark Twain) |

Juan, understand exactly where you are coming from. The sad thing is if the credit for v7 WUs was properly benched marked to AP, there would be no need for what you are after or for any of us to keep switching. Sad days I feel. Can´t agree more with you. @Cosmic_Ocean - Please look the other thread, i know we could do that manualy but that requires a lot of babysitting, and if you have several host like me is not an option. @William - yes some os us care about credits... remember the old stuff... men´s are highly competitive, is the human nature... or for what other pourpose the "meaningless credit" serves? |

What I do is having a cache of 5-10 on my 3 PCs doing APs, when there is no APs like the last 14 days, I set a cache of 1 day doing v7, and when there's AP work again I go back to the longer cache, not optimal but it works. That way I don't need to do more v7 work than necessary :) |

Something must be wrong. 4 service outages now and neither of my rigs have had to hit up their backup projects. What's the world coming to? Cheers. |

I know. I am scared too... Not sure if that is the source of the problem, but when that happens did you check what you log say´s? During the outages a lof of ready crunched WU acumulates on the caches, the scheduler could missunderstand that and not ask for new work because he belives there are so many WU ready to UL. Please share with us your findings. |

Juan Yep. A bit of the "Everything is working... so something must be wrong!" mentality. SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

Don't tell me a grad student tripped over the power cable and spilled their Starbucks into the server intake fan again! |

Have we got another stuck tape, or is the system just choking up now that it's producing AP work again? Since around the time AP started coming out again, MB WU production has dropped of significantly. It was around the mid 20s, now it's around the mid teens. Big drop in output. Grant Darwin NT |

All AP tapes done, so for the next days only MB WU will be aaiable, that is the fact. Due the creditnew mess everyone DL all the AP WU and leave the MB WU behind. That´s prove, credit is important... Well Id say most folks saw all the crying done in the credit new crying thread and decided they wanted to do what some you top 10 crunchers said to do. So they did it and now you dont like it? Who say i don´t like it? I like it, that´s prove the theory, credit is important for humans... BTW I still crunching all the MB the servers send, no mather their low credit... I don´t switch my preferences to AP only like some others. |
