Surprise,
and Preparation.

And, the glaciers melted,
all over the world.

The Sea levels rose,
flooding all but one coastal city
in the United States --

Providence, Rhode Island.

Why was Providence spared?

It planned ahead,
to provide against hurricane surges.
Cooperating with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers,
it realized the Fox Point Hurricane Barrier.

Three gates, and a pumping station.
No more Narragansett Bay
flooding of Providence due to hurricane surges --
or, as it turned out,
sea level rise.

The citizenry of Providence were prepared.

Will the citizenry of the rest of the United States
be as prepared?

Will they need to be as prepared?

Ask the folks, in Rhode Island;
especially those who experienced
the Hurricane of 1938.

Lacrimosa

Chi vuolo sbagliare
In l'universo completo.

Chi vuolo andare con te.

Chi vuolo cantare per te.
Chi vuolo rivare por te.

Dimmi les paroles di cuoro,
Diventata verticale.

Mi chi chiame passegiare con te..

Up Time,
Down Time

A time for leaves to burst forth,
and contribute to the immediate needs
of their helping support.

A time for leaves to display
their innate colors and form,
and touch the world, at large.

A time for leaves to fall,
and make their ultimate sacrifice
to the nurturing creation.

Along the way --

up times,
and
down times,

to ponder it all.

A Metaphor
to Bend
Space-Time

And, there it was --
a small, shiny sphere,
hovering in mid-air.

Scary.

The next task:
Determine the next metaphor
to made it disappear.

Eye Candy

Oh you and I candy
You are my candy
I can dye
Your white candyfloss
I can dye
And comb
Your white hair

Real eye
In a candy
I wouldn’t eat
If it weren’t sweet

Oh you and I candy
My Candy

The Dance

What if I tell you
Stories of never never land
That die and are reborn again.

Time gives the spin a new meaning,
And the dance..

The dance, lightning years,
Lightyears from home,
Where time built its own dance.

Let there be light it said,
So we could dance..

Best case scenario’s
Still had to be written
In our book of Love.

Dark spirits follow the night,
Fear of the dance grows upon them.

What if I tell you
Stories of wonderland,
That die in the dance.

Wisdom falls upon them,
Stories with an everlasting
Happy ending and beginning..

Of wonders, going ‘round and ‘round
‘Round the dance, time has a hold on.

Worst case scenario’s
Couldn’t be found
In our book of Love.

The supernova lighted up
The universe, and the dance
followed time into a new dimension.

Dark spirits follow the night,
The ice grows upon them.

No need to fear the dance anymore,
Anymore will time come back and let
The shadows play with the dance again.

A Sunny Autumn Scene

Silently, the silver space ships
lifted up into the blue autumn sky.
Some of the children tearfully
waved good by, to their friends.

They would never see them again.

The ships were a familiar sight,
and not many of the remaining citizens
took time to watch.

The trees were starting to turn colors --
a familiar, pleasant early autumn scene.
Winter would soon blanket the hills in white.

The main, yellow moon, lifted up in the east;
it's smaller, white companion,
would soon follow.

There would be a dance,
in the town hall, tonight.
Great fun!

Sadly, though, it would be without
some of their friends.
The migrations softened living . . .

but, they did so,
at a price.

Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night
by Dylan Thomas:

Do not go gentle into that good night

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

If a Picture is Worth
a Thousand Words

If a picture is worth a thousand words,
and
your picture is beautiful,

then let's
consider
a thousand words.

A thousand words,
again,
to describe

your beautiful picture.

The City

The sounds of the city,
The stranger passing by,
The sun setting
And the bluebird flying high.

A breeze is flowing
Through my eyes
And the sound of it,
Just makes me cry.

Mr. Cave shows the darkness
Is just nearby, while my friends
Give me advice.
Far away I can hear them die...

The city is calling me,
The stranger at my window,
The sun, rising and the
Music tree starts to grow.

Its blossoms are whispering
In my ears, words of comfort
I want to hear.

Mr. Cave is standing by,
Losing the sounds of the city,
While my friends are closing in,
From afar I can hear them win.

Each city knows its dangers,
Glad I’m doing fine..
The city needs release,
The city wants its peace..

A dear lady's poem, revised. . .

Wish Big Wish

My wish is the same as yours.
But, not every one
has yet to come true.

Friend. You are a friend.
I need lots of friends
who will stay with me.

Read the read?
Ha!
Sports and mystery stories.

But, I can read other
stories, too.
Go swim, if you can't read something!

Music.
I like music.
It fills my home

with dreams.
Dream, climb dream.
Do you know what that means, to me?

I'll whisper the answer in your ear,
someday.
Imagine my whisper.

And, with each dream I realize,
a bird will fly free.
Fly, bird!

I love each flower.
A wonder.
Each flower!

I like to watch T.V.,
at night.
Each is a "see" night.
(Get it?)

But, I am different.
I think you like me different,
but, you, also, wish big wish.

You want to go fast.
I have to say, at times,
"not fast".
(ha-ha)

Why?
Because,
by because.
(figure it out)

"Home sweet home."?
No, my riddle is,
"home thought home"

Sometimes there are many choices.
But, I'm succeeding!
Together me together.

For relaxation . . .
garden,
water garden.

The ultimate goal, for me . . .
tree,
climb tree.

The original cut-and-paste poem, by this young lady, is, to me, priceless.
Never-the-less, it's inspirational effect I'd like to share with each one of you.

Fast Not Fast

I am fast, because I
wish big wish.

Dream climb dream.
Do you know
what I mean?

Gradually,
but faster,
together me together.

But, I'll share --
whisper imagine whisper.
Because by because.

Friend you friend.
Don't leave me.
Because by because.

Different am different.
But, to you, I am
music like music.

Home thought home.
I'll try to explain that,
to you,

Someday.

Oh, my -- I blundered, again, with my lady-friend. . .

My Wish is Missing

What did you do with my wish?
I did not say that you could hide it!

You are my friend!
Please, return my wish!

Besides, you don't
really know what it is.

I left it on the table,
along with your poem.

Now I know --
your poem stole my wish,

and claimed it
for itself..

Heaven Is Closeby

I can feel it
Inside and out
And closeby
As it seems.

I can hear Elvis calling
From a town nearby,
He’s going to fall
Right into my arms.

Sister Dew was happy,
That is all that counted.
She was going to fall
Right into his arms.

I can feel it
Inside and out
And closeby
As it seems.

The dove is singing
A song of everything,
Inside and out and
Closeby as it seems.

Everyone was happy again,
That is all that counted.
They were going to fall
Into each others arms.

I can feel it
Inside and out
And closeby
As it seems.

I look at the Southwest,
We are sailing on.
The Sun goes down
And will rise again.

Discovery in a Crystal Ball

No picture,
in my crystal ball.

Why?

The instructions say that anyone else
making the same request
into my future,
at the same time,
will nullify my own view.

Only one glimpse into my future,
and someone else
stole my chance.

Who?

A Crossword Puzzle

My father worked puzzles;
puzzles, with words,
both across, and down.

He never said why.
Perhaps, just for the challenge
of the solutions.

Solutions,
down, and across.
Words, that --

sometimes,

told a story.

*

You love to work puzzles;
puzzles, with words,
both across and down.

You've never said why.
Perhaps, just for the challenge
of the solutions.

Solutions,
down, and across.

Do you hope that --

perhaps,

they will tell a story,
for you?

*

I hope they do.
