Well my TLPTPW has a winner, and I've posted the rules (including the admonition against copyrighted pics) at the end with a request to the winner to copy them to the beginning of the next thread and to pass it on. I guess I'm done. |

The most likely first step of any case would be a "take down" request from the copyright holder - we've had one very recently.{/quote] Or a reply sent to the other side telling them to shut up or we peruse action against you for false and malicious claims that Seti is infringing, when it isn't. Obviously it makes sense not to get into the situation where the lawyers get involved, and "take down" the material, and other similar material on receipt of the first "take down" request. Guess you missed that it wasn't Google, but the published opinion of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals I went to. When I was pursuing someone for breach of copyright on my own material. I am glad to say that the first letter got the desired result, at which time the legal advise had only cost me a decent meal, not the thousands of pounds a court case would have. England has much more liberal laws concerning copyright than the USA. Legal advice given in England is not necessarily applicable to the USA. If you had bothered to read the opinion of the court, you would have seen where the plaintiff argued that a link was infringement, the court repudiated that claim, and quite properly looked at the data returned from the defendants server and found no photo was sent. You can continue to be bullied or you can get rid of the [ img ] bcc tag because essentially everything that can be put there is copyrighted. Heck using your thought process having a functional [ img ] tag is operating Napster! Or you can grow a spine and send back the legal cite and ignore. |

Im sure that everything on the internet has to be true. Just think of the money they could save by quoting a wiki legal link right back at them [/quote] Old James |

Legal advice given in England is not necessarily applicable to the USA. Does the inverse not also apply. |

I thought we were waiting for the legal staff to give an opinion? Or have the mods not told the truth? |

In the Beet's Thread, Michael Roberts references Shakespeare. It seems to me that there are so many quotes that fit this picture... "If you prick us do we not bleed?" "What a piece of work is a man" "That it should come to this!" "In my mind's eye" "I will speak daggers to her, but use none" "Can one desire too much of a good thing?" "True is it that we have seen better days" "O that I were a glove upon that hand, that I might touch that cheek!" "This is the short and the long of it" "Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt" "The better part of valour is discretion" "A man can die but once" "Small things make base men proud" "We have seen better days" "Friends, Romans, Countrymen... lend me your ears" "Men at some time are masters of their fates" "There 's daggers in men's smiles" "What 's done is done" "Fair is foul, and foul is fair" "Is this a dagger which I see before me, The handle toward my hand?" "This above all: to thine own self be true" |

Re: Mystery Kitchen Tool three Chris are you looking for a specific name, when actually there isn't one? Try google images for pasty/pastie/pastry mold. |

Interesting. I never thought of the Empanada as a pasty, but if I look up the definition of one and a standard empanada recipie you can probably class empanadas as such. But I doubt british pasties contain a minced meat/onion/condiments mixture topped up with an olive, a few raisins and a slice of hard boild egg :D And using a crimping tool is for sissies.
