hey Mike There is no such thing like the best setting. But you can start with. -unroll 12 -ffa_block 8192 -ffa_block_fetch 4096 -hp With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

I have a question about the command line settings. I see that you can set them in the ap_cmdline.txt file. Also, I see that you can set them in the app_info.xml. Assuming you are using anonymous platform (app_info.xml), which place must you use to set the options? If the answer is "either place will work", and you happen to have settings in both places, which one gets used? Finally, I believe that the app_info.xml is read only when BOINC starts, and the ap_cmdline.txt is read every time a new task starts. Is this correct? If so, I think I would rather use the ap_cmdline.txt, assuming that is possible when also using anonymous platform (app_info.xml). TIA! Dublin, California Team: SETI.USA |

I have a question about the command line settings. I see that you can set them in the ap_cmdline.txt file. Also, I see that you can set them in the app_info.xml. It will read it from either, but it is best to have it in the ap_cmdline.txt file. |

I have a question about the command line settings. I see that you can set them in the ap_cmdline.txt file. Also, I see that you can set them in the app_info.xml. AFAIK, the app_info is not readonly, but any change on it wont be used until you restart BOINC. (Still AFAIK)The ap_cmdline.txt is read after the app started so if present it will override the settings on the app_info, and the idea of this extra file was exactly to make it easier to change the cmdline options without having to restart BOINC. |

Thanks for all the info! P.S. FWIW, I did not mean to say it was read-only. I meant that BOINC read it only at start up (or manually forcing it to re-read). Too bad the same work is spelled the same, when meaning two different things. Dublin, California Team: SETI.USA |
