Versions of BOINC and SETI@home for Solaris/x86 are available, courtesy of Jochen van Waasen.

I bet Jochen van Waasen does.

I tried putting Solaris X86 on my IBM Craptiva, but it didn't like it.

I did use IRIX to crunch a whole stack of SETI Classic units. Never used Solaris though.

I used a few Sun machines for Seti classic for years. Guess I'm about to try the x86 version, thanks.

Removed post due to wrzwaldo pointless comments. Obviously he doesn't understand the credit system so I saw no reason to leave my post up.

Are you sure thats the reason you only got 19 credits?

What is your reasoning for only getting 33 credits for this one?

Looks like it may just be an AMD thing... More times then not they claim a bloated credit.

@Tony... If you cannot post in an intelligent manner then why bother? I see you also removed your original post about the 19 WU's. To bad I had already quoted it and it is still there. That just tells me you agree with me that it was a stupid statement. I am not looking to start a "flame war" and was curious as to your reasoning about the claimed/given credit. Thanks for participating in a mature conversation.

P.S. My pointless edit was because I removed a bunch of links that attempted to backup my claim of AMD systems with inflated claimed credit compared to other systems. Having evaluated your previous posts I concluded that my post was pointless because this is just a numbers game for you.

Yes I use Solaris (9) at the moment, on Sparc hardware. Not the fastest system on the planet but very stable. I also use Windows and Linux on Intel and AMD. Currently building a quad Xeon that will start with Solaris x86.

I'm trying the X86 version (Solaris 9_X86) but every work unit has ended with error 131.

Any ideas?

Marc

I'm trying (without success) to compile BOINC on Sparc/Solaris10 for my two ultra5...
If anybody can post a Sparc/Solaris binary (64bit???) or even better if the SAH team can do it on a daily basis (on their website) I will be more than happy....

Regards
