Update: After reaching a logical (i.e. not physical) limitation in our science database we had to rebuild one table. No data were lost. We resumed normal operations today around noon.

We hit a storage limitation in our science database. Everything is okay but we will remain down, at least overnight, to run various tests.

Thanks for the explanation, Matt. It doesn't change anything, but it makes us feel better just knowing that you know what's happened.

Glad to be back?

We're glad to have you back.

Hope your hiatus was a good one.

Thanks for the news, hope the tests reveal it's nothing serious.

Thanks for the update. It's Tuesday night here, so technically the outage is still on :P I am not too worried. You guys always pull through.

I've been bussy with other things, hope you didn't have to cut short what you were doing.

And as always, I/we thank you for the update(s) and I hope you can fix the storage troubles without too much hassle.

Welcome home Matt.

Its a shame the fire hose needed to be reeled out upon your return. Aside from that I hope it was a good tour.

I am under the impression the site is still down due to storage issues. Is there an update as to when the site will resume projects? Thank you in advance for the assist in this issue.

Matt:
I see we're coming back. Nice! Hope to see those splitters running soon.

Just to let you know (or remind you)...
There's still a pending issue with some WU appearing as "Completed, waiting for validation" although they've two wingmen that have already been validated.
(e.g. WUs 836973399, 843245271)
Perhaps maintaining these WU as pending is creating some disturbance somewhere and/or they're using valuable storage space unnecessarily.

Regards,
AR

Hurrah, as of 1250 PST (Berkeley time, or earlier) on Feb 15, the reporting of outstanding WU's (if you had them...) became possible.

Now, once you're sure that production SETI is stable, could you bring Beta back online?
.

Greetings:

Is there a place to get up to the minute status on seti@home? I have not got a packet yet today. Just wondering and wanting, like everyone else, to be the breakthrough guy.

Thanks.

server have restarted, we are 500,000 pc asking for works, or we get no answers from peers, or we get no tasks available. some lucky got some works, it will take a while before all PCs satisfied. let your PCs asking and hope you find an hole where you ll get some.

I don't know where you got the 500,000 from as there are less than 280,000 active hosts but yes every one of them will be battling for work.

Cheers.
