Base Camp - Arecibo?

Like the guess, but not in Puerto Rico. BTW Puerto Rico is part of the USA and I already said it isn't in the USA.

It must be a camp of some sort, I can see a big bell to summon people....

Not sure if the bell is used by the church immediately out of the frame to the left, or for other reasons as well, or if it is just historic.

You say Island West of Europe. Are we talking East or West Atlantic here?

Not in the Atlantic, but still west of Europe.

Hint #2. That is an anchor in front of the building where the white sign is.

Hmmm
An island location
West of mainland Europe
Not United Kingdom
Not USA/Canada
Not Caribbean area
Not in the Atlantic

Now I just wander
Greenland is west of mainland Europe, is an island and isn't strictly in the Atlantic but the Arctic Ocean.
Iceland may also be classed as being in the Arctic Ocean

But what if we extend this, we end up south of the equator, somewhere like the Falklands (Southern Ocean), but I think there are too many trees in the picture...

Of course being totally perverse there is the Isle of Man, which is not part of the United Kingdom and sits in the middle of the Irish Sea...

What about the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea.

Right, so that must be a ships bell then? Does this place commemorate a famous ship? I think you need to tighten up on West of Europe, terms of a hint in distance....

Commemorate a famous ship, that isn't the official function, but it does.

Distance from Europe ... west of the America's also.

I did not answer the question about United Kingdom, just the part about it being an island west of Europe.

I know I'm going to be asked about being part of the UK again. Reading the Wiki article for this place I believe the strict answer is no, but it may depend upon what is meant by being part of the UK.

That is your too big hint.

Sorry for the delay in the answers, but the outage and work delayed me.

Right it must be a UK colony or dependency in the Pacific then? OK stab in the dark, Bounty Mutineers?

Has something to do with them.

Question is: What is the name of this place?

I should have recognized the Bounty's anchor in front of the public hall. But your clues had me thinking west of Europe but east of the Americas.

That's the Main Square, Adamstown, Pitcairn

The public hall in the Main Square in Pitcairn's 'capital city', Adamstown. It is big enough to house the island's entire population. It was used as the Courthouse during the infamous trials of 2004.

The building itself sits atop the old cemetery, where the remains of Fletcher Christian's wife is believed to be.

Carlos is correct. Take it away.

Didn't mean to deceive with the answer west, but all you need do is use latitudes and longitudes to narrow down a location.

It is a long way from anywhere.
