When is Dr Anderson going to fix the DCF problem with Seti@Home? I was told elsewhere that this is something that He could do. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

Gripe: There's nowhere to hide the present I bought for a member of the family until Christmas morning. I used to hear stories about how my grandma would hide presents so well, she forgot about them. But, my aunt had found them anyway and on Christmas morning, she'd say "Hey, what about the such-and-such you got me?" and go get it from its hiding place. Or, as soon as she opened something, she'd say "It doesn't fit" without trying it. She'd already tried it while it was hidden. When my mom went to college, my grandma skunked my aunt -- she hid all the presents in the dorm. Gripe: This project will most likely never find anything even resembling an ET signal with the methodologies being employed. Kudos: The fact that we're still trying given the limited tools at our disposal. Merry Christmas all |

My biggest Gripe is that S@H gives me NO tasks under Linux and few under windows... and those few typically restart the download 10 times or more, downloading at a blazing 1Kbps to 5Kbps... and that on a 10+ MBit up/down cable connection... I don't know who is getting all the server bandwidth, but it sure isn't me... and it's been this way for months!! 8-) This is a fast one!! One of about half a dozen I've received in the last day or two... Over 12 minutes as of now and doing a bristering 0.42Kbps... Sheesh!! |

Yer running 6.12.33, Switch to 6.10.58 and You might get more, as always YMMV, I ran 6.12.34, same problem, went back to 6.10.58 and I get lots of work, plus the backoffs due to bandwidth problems(traffic at Seti@Home). I've had wu's get stuck at 3.5Kbps... Good Luck. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

LOL! I doubt it's a problem with the client since it works fine for 26 other projects... It's the server bandwidth... When it takes HOURS to download a task... well... it's just painful! LOL! 8-) |

Kudos: Just got back from an 8 day Xmas break with relatives with no internet access and found that all my crunchers have managed perfectly well without me, my RAC is at an all time high, no backup projects were needed and judging by the cricket graphs, SETI central worked perfectly throughout that time with not even a weekly outage break. Gripe: Based on the above, I wish it could be Xmas every week |

Kudos: Almost everything here seemed to be going the right way, even XMAS Dinner. Gripe: Stomach flu ruined It all, Hopefully a week is enough time for a flu shot to take effect for the manager, as She has to deliver the rent bill to Me. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! Gripe: Boincs bloody 8hr backoffs on retries. Kudos: Some lads have been in the lab during the last week, doing the weekly outage and putting work for splitting and whatnot. WHEN THEY SHOULD BE AT HOME DRINKING! :) Member of the People Encouraging Niceness In Society club. |

We have lift-off: new tasks and validation of reported tasks. Kudos to whichever staff member prodded the system at first light on a Sunday morning. |

Gripe: I'm getting WU's that there's no way I can complete before the deadline, because the deadline is only twelve minutes from when the WU was assigned - and with the current D/L situation, I haven't even downloaded it before the deadline! Host 5375392 has a CUDA card, and both those tasks are VLAR. With the comms outage, they'll have been lost in transmission, considered for resend against a CUDA request, but rejected because VLAR on CUDA cause such a lousy user screen lag experience. We've covered this before. |
