Depends on who you ask and if your accountant is shady or sneaky. But the law, as it is written, does not allow for your electricity to be written off as a donation - at least that's what my previous employer's very expensive CPA informed me when I inquired about it. |

Though one of the sneaky work-around methods that I've read about before was some provision that could possibly be used in the colder months.. the heat generated from crunching can count as "alternative heating methods" or something like that and be counted, and it's not some really simple number or percentage that you can claim, either.
