umm....my SETI project just picked up a Gaussian pulse with a score of 4.23 or so..... :O BTW, i'm working on a second-hand computer to run for SETI. any reccomendations on upgrades? |

Every computer that crunches is appreciated. If your intention is to upgrade,l start at the plug. Pull it out of the Power supply(PSU) and replace anything that isn't attached to the plug anymore. You are running a fairly old system, however if your intentions are to improve your overall Computing experience then great upgrade. If you are intending to increase your RAC, don't get caught in the RAC race. In other words if your system works fine then dont fix it In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. scores of any kind are meaningless without being processed through the NTKPKr. Without knowing what has previously been seen at that point in the sky it is impossible to tell what that one score means. In other words don't get all caught up in the numbers.
