Ihanx Michael:)

That's OK Julie...I've got to try and send a swamp cooler to VW Bobier now.

He does not need the whole cooler, just the motor for the squirrel cage.

Most likely either a 1/3 or 1/2 HP motor.

......Ahhhh....that was nice......

Just spent a relaxing half hour sat out in
my air conditioned back garden, slight breeze,
sipping from a glass of chilled Grapefruit juice
with a dash or two of lime juice added.

....Oh how the other half live.....(Te-he)

Ideal conditions to be growing grapes in, providing you have enough water, that is?

So far this year, we only had four or five days of 100+ F. I wouldn't mind if it stays in the low 90 for the rest of the summer.

It's 98F in here and cloudy outside, it's the monsoon season, lots of thunderstorms and rain, sometimes hail, plus high humidity(for the desert). I just found out the controller on the swamp cooler is fried as the park just tried a different motor with not much difference and so the park will be replacing the swamp cooler, otherwise a mobile home or a house isn't livable out here, but then not everyone can afford a/c. So It might be a few days until It's cool again in here. :| I'm putting the pc to sleep again, later.

Humidity is so bad for the computer. Didn't know you had that over there, with the desert so close by and all.

Try 100F its a hoot. ;) Its now 87F and falling, 59% humidity now.

I can positively say that long before temps reached that high, I would've gone completely crazy :).

I know it can get really hot in Vegas. I was there on a holiday once and even the car's airco didn't work anymore because of the heat. It was like 42°C but still the heat was bearable because it wasn't humid at all.

110 degrees yesterday in Dallas-Ft Worth.
112 in Burkburnett Texas. we are looking to set a record number of days over 100 and over 100 in a row. We now have hit 100 degrees at least 33 days in a row. not sure how many total days over 100. we haven't had rain since a small cloud let loose with a few drops back around may 28th. we are around 15 inches under our normal rainfall. everything is turning brown. trees are starting to drop their leaves.

We store drinking water in surface lakes. Tap water now tastes and smells like the bottom of a stinky lake

Had over 105F Yesterday, of course the humidity was ultra low, near 4%, But bearable as long as Ya don't step outside, then Ya won't notice It until one returns to cooler temps indoors, then you'll sweat like crazy for a few minutes or rather You'll finally notice what Your body was doing in the 100F+ temps in the Desert.

I don't need to do much to the cooler now as It's now working right, I may replace the old grill or at least get a winterizing grill for the winter, plus a nailer, brads and some foam sealant to finish the install, the house is a rental, so I can't use something like an adhesive to reattach the old trim boards, caulking is ok though. Today I may be able to take some pics of the Champion WC50 cooler as I'll be getting two Duracell NiMH batteries that comes w/a charger for them in by UPS today.

Look forwards to seeing your pics, Vic...do some local scenery shots too.. we might be able to get a feel of the heat your getting...
