Yes, it's that time again........Christmas time. I like to keep Christ in Christmas......but's let not get too politically correct in this thread. This is for all the Christmas songs that were not quite politically correct....or religiously. I will start out with a tamed up version of my fave.....Blue Christmas. There was a full-out hard version of this a few years back that I can not longer find. A link to it would be appreciated. Blue Christmas by Collective Soul. In the not politically correct realm of Christmas music there is always: "Grandma got run over by a reindeer.". Just had to post this one in the 'spirit' of the thread. Haven't heard it for some 50 years ('twas on an old and scratchy 78'). Bah Humbug! :∂ Broke my bat on Johnny's head; Somebody snitched on me. With no politically involved comment......this is the way it way meant to be. Charlie Brown's Christmas.. 'Isn't there anyone who knows what Christmas is all about??' Charlie shouts. And Linus picks up his blanket and gives the most wonderful, simple expanation that has ever been offered. And then Charlie picks up his little, wobegotten tree, and is happy with it. As we all should be. It was about Jesus........not about gifts........His was the greatest. Life everlasting...... And this has been my explanation for the holiday ever since. Another band Gettin' Nuthin'... Ohhhhhhh... I finally found it. THIS is the version I best recall...... Stan Freberg I'm getting nuttin' for Christmas. LOL. I always thought it was Spike Jones, although he did a version of it too. Here is the Wikipedia article about the song. Apparently there were 5 different versions of it in '55.
