Yes, it's that time again........Christmas time.

I like to keep Christ in Christmas......but's let not get too politically correct in this thread.

This is for all the Christmas songs that were not quite politically correct....or religiously.

I will start out with a tamed up version of my fave.....Blue Christmas.

There was a full-out hard version of this a few years back that I can not longer find. A link to it would be appreciated.

Blue Christmas by Collective Soul.

In the not politically correct realm of Christmas music there is always: "Grandma got run over by a reindeer.".

"Grandma got run over by a reindeer
Walking home from our house Christmas eve
You can say there's no such thing as Santa
But as for me and Grandpa, we believe

She'd been drinkin' too much egg nog
And we'd begged her not to go
But she'd left her medication
So she stumbled out the door into the snow

When they found her Christmas mornin'
At the scene of the attack
There were hoof prints on her forehead
And incriminatin' Claus marks on her back

Grandma got run over by a reindeer
Walkin' home from our house Christmas eve
You can say there's no such thing as Santa
But as for me and Grandpa, we believe

Now were all so proud of Grandpa
He's been takin' this so well
See him in there watchin' football
Drinkin' beer and playin' cards with cousin Belle

It's not Christmas without Grandma
All the family's dressed in black
And we just can't help but wonder
Should we open up her gifts or send them back?

Grandma got run over by a reindeer
Walkin' home from our house Christmas eve
You can say there's no such thing as Santa
But as for me and Grandpa, we believe

Now the goose is on the table
And the pudding made of pig
And a blue and silver candle
That would just have matched the hair in Grandma's wig

I've warned all my friends and neighbors
Better watch out for yourselves
They should never give a license
To a man who drives a sleigh and plays with elves

Grandma got run over by a reindeer
Walkin' home from our house, Christmas eve
You can say there's no such thing as Santa
But as for me and Grandpa, we believe!"

Just had to post this one in the 'spirit' of the thread. Haven't heard it for some 50 years ('twas on an old and scratchy 78'). Bah Humbug! :∂

Broke my bat on Johnny's head;
Somebody snitched on me.
I hid a frog in sister's bed;
Somebody snitched on me.
I spilled some ink on Mommy's rug;
I made Tommy eat a bug;
Bought some gum with a penny slug;
Somebody snitched on me.

CHORUS: Oh,
I'm gettin' nuttin' for Christmas
Mommy and Daddy are mad.
I'm gettin' nuttin' for Christmas
'Cause I ain't been nuttin' but bad.

I won't be seeing Santa Claus;
Somebody snitched on me.
He won't come visit me because
Somebody snitched on me.
Next year I'll be going straight;
Next year I'll be good, just wait
I'd start now, but it's too late;
Somebody snitched on me.
So you better be good whatever you do
'Cause if you're bad, I'm warning you,
You'll get nuttin' for Christmas.

With no politically involved comment......this is the way it way meant to be.

Charlie Brown's Christmas..

'Isn't there anyone who knows what Christmas is all about??' Charlie shouts.

And Linus picks up his blanket and gives the most wonderful, simple expanation that has ever been offered.

And then Charlie picks up his little, wobegotten tree, and is happy with it.
As we all should be.

It was about Jesus........not about gifts........His was the greatest.
Life everlasting......

And this has been my explanation for the holiday ever since.

'That's what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.'

After all these years, it still makes me cry.

So, anytime somebody asks me about the Christ child......I always respond......

'That's what Christmas is about, Cherlie Brown.'

Another one of my annual Christmas favorites.

Blue Christmas.

Not your usual version...

Who did the original? I forget.

Ohhhhhhh...
I finally found it.

THIS is the version I best recall......
Stan Freberg
I'm getting nuttin' for Christmas. LOL. I always thought it was Spike Jones, although he did a version of it too.

Here is the Wikipedia article about the song.
Apparently there were 5 different versions of it in '55.

A surprise Christmas treat...
Done last year. Mall food court.

Hallelujah!!

This was rather spectacular for an impromptu event.
Enjoy.

Another seasonal treat....

Vince Vance and the Valiants.
All I want for Christmas is You.

And here is a simply wonderful version by LeAnn Rimes...
Nice guitar backup. And of course, her wonderful voice.
The vid's not great, but the audio makes it worthwhile.
All I want for Christmas...LeAnn's take.
