I was just wondering if seti is coming back online and the time frame? My computer room is starting to get cold and I am having to add heat to the room which is a change, usually im trying to move the heat away, but its already 2 weeks now. Anyone have any news on when this project is going to be back and active?

In this down time I have cleaned all my machines and made sure they are ready to run when they get units. I believe in Seti, I do not like to spread my computing time on other versions, I joined way back before it was all Boinc, and Seti was the only type of this program running and will continue to run it dedicated. Not complaining, just anxious, I'm just ready and waiting, and within another 1-2 weeks, I'll have a couple of my computers to help start crunching.

No. SETI decided that they didn't have the funds to continue so they have pulled the plug on the project. It won't be coming back online.

Now that wasn't nice. :-) Of course SETI will be coming back. They should be up and running somewhere near the end of this month or the first of next month. They are getting two brand new servers to replace a couple that finally gave out on them. There is more information on the front page or in tech news and of course everyone is discussing it in number crunching.

To funny, but I am seriously starting to wonder, I haven't seen any tasks on systems for about a month and from the server statis. Tasks are being given out if you are lucky enough to hit the right time frame. Or am I reading it wrong? And in regards to my earlier post, it should read: I'll have 2 more computers with quad processors and both with 465overclocked in addition to start crunching.

The tasks that are getting sent out now are the ghost units that are timing out from other cruncher's machines and getting re-sent to people.

No new tasks are being generated at this time.

Thank you for that clarification, I received units on one lower machine. That is why I was asking about back up and running. Thanks again, cant wait till it all comes back online.
