If there was a way to get my hands on a 16bit SETI command line executable that was able to be run under Windows 3.1x, I'd be more than willing to give it a try. I don't have the DOS NIC drivers loaded because they take up too much conventional memory!

The 32 bit command line version of Debian Linux runs Boinc just fine and it even supports the i386. You do need at least 64MB of memory so it will depend on the motherboard if you can actualy run it.

That certainly would be a solution for those interested in using Linux. A Win32s solution would be just as acceptable. There weren't too many 386/486 motherboards that supported 64MB of RAM.

Oh, not needed, just turn on the pagefile under win 3.1 or use swap partition... :D
That will bring some nice speed ... khm, change :D

My dual pentium 75 may have all the speed of a hand cranked calculator but its done the first of its 2 w/u's.

At 3,156,019.00 seconds its done well and gained a massive 109.59 in credits for its effort.
The other person who also finished this work unit did it in 19,126.18 seconds which is a bit quicker I think. Also they completed and reported it a month ago.
So I thank them for their Patience.

Might soon be time to crank up the dual pentium pro machine. This has the 1 meg L2 cache cpu's. And takes less than 10 mins to boot up.

Fun times. I upgraded my dual Pentium Pro to Pentium II Overdrives with 512KB L2 cache each, 512MB RAM total and Windows NT 4.0 Server.
