Credits are nice, they make people happy. But are you in this for the credit, or as a contribution to science?

It would help if you crunched the WU's that have been
sent to your 4 computers only a handful have been done.

I suspect he has only one computer, even though the list shows four. The same happened to me when I deleted BOINC and reinstalled it a couple times trying to work around some problems. I have since deleted the "ghost" computers from my list.

I'm sure he set cache up of three days, and then he pushed several times the "reset"-Button on BOINC-Client 4.13 with the effect that all WU's are gone. How can he crunch them??

Looking over your results file, it appears you have not crunched that many WUWUs and you have a lot of WUWUs that will not be crunched because you keep detaching and reattaching to Seti@h... I see 4 computers listed, so you need to merge them and crunch more WUWUs if you want credit.....or you can go to LHC@H, your call. You have 133.89 credits listed..........

Both. I want to know my contribution is being used, not pending in limbo for ever. No credits, no contribution.

By participating through the rough times, you help BOINC development work out the kinks and ultimately deliver a solid platform on which to manage the various science projects. Even no credits results in contribution.

You might want to switch back to Classic then!
Boinc DOES give credits but not on a consistent EVERYDAY basis. The system is NOT broken, but it does need some tweaking. It WILL be tweaked as time goes and your contribution IS helping!

I've been thinking about it but I doubt I'll do it. The more results they get in for BOINC, the sooner things get straightened out. Just seems a bit much for so many files to go missing, so many errors to be produced. Here they are:

No idea what this error means, I got the WU, it was reported back in about 2 days for each time, Unknown Outcome, New Client state:
8

Most of these have "Check Skipped" as validation, one "Invalid" That I saw, 1 or 2 with under a minute for CPU time the rest had more, 0 Cretit Granted:
13

Most of these were probably my fault, had cpu probs & had to format twice since I've started BOINC so some were lost, don't remember this many though, No Reply:
66

Download Error:
8

Missing File:
37

Pending:
53

In Progress:

From a post by Paul;

From the "Rules and Policy"

===============
Liability

SETI@home and University of California assume no liability for damage to your
computer, loss of data, or any other event or condition that may occur as a
result of participating in SETI@home.

Other BOINC projects

Other projects use the same platform, BOINC, as SETI@home. You may want to
consider participating in one or more of these projects. By doing so, your
computer will do useful work even when SETI@home has no work available for
it.

These other projects are not associated with SETI@home, and we cannot vouch
for their security practices or the nature of their research. Join them at
your own risk.
==============

From the Credit Page:

Claimed credit is reported to a project when your computer communicates with
its server. The granted credit that you receive may be different from the
claimed credit, and there may be a delay of a few hours or days before it is
granted. This is because some BOINC projects grant credit only after results
have been validated.

================

From "Getting Started":

Please keep in mind:

There may be a delay of several days between when your computer reports a
result and when it is granted credit for the result. Your User page shows
you how much credit is 'pending' (claimed but not granted).
The credit-granting process starts when your computer reports a result to the
server (not when it finishes computing the result or uploading the output
files).
In rare cases (e.g. if errors occur on one or more computers) you may never
receive credit for a computation.

I don't know either.

Check skipped means that the WU errored out on too many machines. There were some bugs that may have been straightned out recently. Keep a watch for any new ones.

Invalid means that your result did not match the other results. I believe that these should be looked at. One of these isn't too bad.

Under a minute may grant some credit but usually less than 0.01 which is the minimum to display. OTOH they may have errored out this fast.

Returned after the replacement was sent and returned (or not returned at all). Symptoms of a machine that is not on most of the time, a queue that is too large, resets, detaches, retiring a machine, or client hardware failure.

Usually a problem with the WU. No processing on your part.

There were some server crashes that had this symptom.

Waiting for others to return the WU for verification, or the verifier has somehow lost something. There was a bug that has supposedly been fixed within the past month or so that caused some of the older ones to enter this state permanently.

You should have these on one of your computers being processed, waiting to be processed, waiting to upload, or waiting to report.
